Looks realy great but I can't fgure out how to do much in the site. I registered but anytime I try to post a reply, etc it asks me to relog in and then it just pulls up a white page. I tried three different browsers but I can't figure out what is up.

estherau ( ) posted Sat, 22 April 2006 at 11:29 PM

I found a lot of the links don't work even though I joined and logged in. It's a nice site though, and I'll try again later to download the freebies. Love esther PS maybe the site somehow knows that I don't use posette much.

Great, thank you.

I just had a look at the car, all the parts move, it is better than some of the car models for sale.

This is one awesome model for free. I couldn't believe that even the dials on the dash move. So many moving parts.

VK, I hope your going to do more cars....like cars of the late 1950's and early 1960's.

Thanks for a wonderful model.

Arvanor ( ) posted Sun, 23 April 2006 at 10:21 AM

So i just wanna say THANKS for this absolute great and detailed model of one of my dreamcars. Your car looks just awesome and it renders very fine in P6. Thank you! :thumbupboth:

LOL. It was a chick magnet in the 60's, that's why I always wanted this car. Now 40 years later I could easily afford the car but it wouldn't help much I guess ; )

Lol @ VK.

Nice model, you have always been the master of mechanical models.

Hallo Marko, Zich grst Germany 👍

I can admit to a craving for a Porsche Spyder -- think James Dean and also Kill Bill -- but a C-type Jaguar takes some beating.

BTW, do you know what real 427 SC Cobras are selling for these days?  You must make a lot more on your modeling than I do...

Cobra lookalikes, of varying automotice quality, were a staple of the kit car business, a few years ago, and one was the basis of a TV series entitled "A Car Is Born". There used to be a kit-car version of the Jaguar C-type, using Jaguar running-gear and engine. The nearest I've been to owning a classic car is an ancient Land Rover. At least I'm not the one who has to fret about being shunted in a supermarket car-park. It's not a bloody jeep!

VK ( ) posted Wed, 26 April 2006 at 6:31 PM

Jim, about 1/10 of an original C-type. I don't make money on modeling, although it's a passion for many years (modeling I mean, not money). The C-type is an exciting car. Maybe it could be modelled if there are enough reference pictures. I have no car, but when I was very young I drove a Fiat 126. This was one of the smallest and noisiest cars at that time (air cooled two-stroke engine).

Helgard ( ) posted Wed, 26 April 2006 at 7:05 PM

Lol, I had a Mini with an 850 CC engine. Not that noisy, but the thing rattled like it had Parkinson's. I had a Lancia Beta as well at one stage, but sports cars are just to expensive to maintain. The Lancia had a type of tyre not sold in South Africa, so I had to import new tyres, not ideal when you are at the bottom of the food chain...

Beautiful cars are like beautiful women, just look, don't buy ; )

Jim Burton ( ) posted Thu, 27 April 2006 at 8:46 PM

Yeah, there are so few original C-types still existing that you can't really put a price on them, but a real 427 Cobra would go for $200,000 to $250,000 these days,  as you might know.  I did see a XK-SS (which was the street version of the D-type, more or less) sold for over a million.

I had a 850 Mini too, BTW, plus a 997 Mini Cooper and a Lotus Elan S-2 (the Emma Peel one, not the one they made more recently).   All were pretty rare in the USA.

Silke ( ) posted Fri, 28 April 2006 at 1:22 PM

Well... Cob1 is the reason for the speedlimit in the UK (Allegedly) Aside from the above rumors, that is one HECK of a beautiful car. I happened to visit the Autocraft (AC) factory to look at the progress of a Mk IV Hurricane (yes the plane) when it was being serviced there. On the way back, a friend of mine asked jokingly "So which one did you like?" and I said "The midnight blue one with the Cob1 numberplate." whereupon he grinned and said "You don't want much, so you?" (I had NO idea lol) However, given the choice... ...I'd have walked out with the Hurricane. No contest. =D
