Hey guys...

To DRAWBRIDGEP - I'm assuming that you are also known by the handle "originalmoron?" - if so - I downloaded your freebie greeblies for city construction including your borg cube thingy and your geo-sphere and geo-sphere thingy on a half shell for a  city scape project for a book / whatever I'm working on. When I feel better we'll chat, do lunch, sacrifice a shaved chicken to Bob, pagan god of cream cheese and scratch and sniff stickers- you know, mull over the details.

ANYWHO - I'm working on a "Coruscant" type city scape - and I want airborne traffic vehicles AND ground vehicles for different scenes, ALSO, the Rendo freebies sections needs fresh fodder anyway - because they are getting full of coffee table and street lamp models again (metaphorically speaking). I'm also a poor guy who makes seven bucks and hour and I'm also a scummy moocher.

I want some folks to design simple, uncomplicated, quick little vehicles for planetary city scapes. They don't have to be incredible elaborate affairs since I want these things open for everybody to grab, share, and have it not be a big hassle for folks to slap together. I would do this, but I want different looking vehicles made with different artist styles and approaches - and if I did them all it would look too formula and uninteresting.

If you can, since these things are gonna be for distance shots and really don't have to be incredibly complex and detailed (meaning you don't have to put a lot of effort into them if you don't want to) - make them available to everybody without any strings attatched (commercial and non-commercial use).

What I would like to see is basically some different overall shapes and configurations and such - and not just Star Wars repetition. Use your imagination and have fun with it. I'm curious to see what a few of you might come up with.

Have to go now - I just heard my microwave's buzzer - so the Guinea Pig ought to be done about now - I am your emperor, Napolean Bonepart - otherwise known as Stevie Wonder - now I pronounce you man and horse, you may kiss the horse......

Unless you know something I don't,(which is extremely possible), Drawbridge(Phil), and Originalmoron are two different persons. Why, the only thing they have in common is that they both model, they both share their finely crafted efforts with the community, and they both have a dry sense of humor...wait a minute, could it be? Now that you mention it, I've never seen them both in one room at the same time!! Great Scott!! You may well be on to something!! On a more serious note though, I don't have a hovercraft or ground vehicle lying around in my modeling archives, but I have a fairly compact, fairly wel-detailed grav-car(with cockpit that fits poser characters) that I would be happy to contribute to the cause if you want it.

I could post a shot or two of it, if it sounds like something you could use.

Dan

I think Original Moron is about 20 yrs younger than Phil, but I could be wrong.

Mugsey,

I'm not sure really on what type/style of vehical you are looking for but from what i read one came to mind that you might find good use for.

drac as/had a model he gave out as a freebie of a vehical that i used in an image which i no longer have in my gallery...sorry i can't recall the name of it, something like Zephar i believe. sorry i don't have any of dracs models on disk or my computer(believe me i want them all again) so i'm unable to get the correct name for you.

I have opinions of my own -- strong opinions -- but I don't always agree with them.

there was (maybe still is) a set of 'traffic' in vehicles (a line of them) in freebies, that went with the Dystopia set. Not sure what the original name was, but there's something like it out there.

I wish I'd said that.. The Staircase Wit

LOL, Ok, I'm not The Originalmoron.   At least I don't think I am.

Thanks babe.

Mugsey, There is another possibility you might consider.   Lattices.
In the attached picture I've used a single lattice that I quickly created in photoshop.  Just a bunch of sqaures at various levels of grey in kinda space type shapes.   It's not too bad at a distance.

DANAMO - I AIN'T FORGOT ABOUT'CHA BUDDY!  Can you post that vehicle that you have -to here at the thread and / or maybe consider putting it in Rendo's freebie section?

KEEP SENDIN'EM KIDS!

I off-loaded some pics of the grav-car when I did a backup,  but here's a couple of 'em in a WIP I never finished. I was going to add a ton of tall Sci-Fi buildings in the background, but never got around to it, LOL. I could Email you the mesh, minus the "Poser pilots".

Mugsey ( ) posted Sun, 30 April 2006 at 3:49 PM

Yes DYNAMO- I'll email you with the addy...THANKS BIG GUY!

P.S. - if you had a texture template - then you could do like endless versions of that sucker!

OT - recently I am recovering from some type of deadly ass killer flu bug that's been going around where I work. I am wiped out energy wise - and I crave sleep and orange juice.I am not quite up to par - so if I don't get back with you guys right away if you contact me, or if I am somewhat slow to respond to a thread post by someone, it's because I'm probably either resting - or yacking up my breakfast. If I don't get any better soon I'm gonna do myself in by deliberately telling my sister that's she's fat and ughly - this should mean certain death for me.

ANYWHO - any suggestions for home remedies, treatment options, etc., are appreciated - but I don't wanna distract from the topic of this thread - as I am a sorry turd and am too lazy sometimes to make stuff - so I need to mooch off of you guys:tt2:...

Rolling around, laughing and pooping myself. Thank you Ang25 lol. But I have to say I feel flattered that someone think I'm such an bootylichous modeler as drawbridgep. Its not realy deserved. And btw, I'm a 1964 model with no education in art or modeling what so ever :)

Mugsey ( ) posted Sun, 30 April 2006 at 4:16 PM

I'm just a tad younger than you original! - 1966

GOD HELP ME! (Mugsey weeps over his lost youth and pines for lost opportunities while lashing himself across the back with a "Cat-O-Nine Tails" for having flesh that is corrupt and subject to decrepitude).

PJF ( ) posted Sun, 30 April 2006 at 5:26 PM

Bloody whipper-snappers, the lot of you.

Mugsey - whisky (a treatment you should be aware of even at your moderate level of decay).

Meatballs. Just think what a meatball pervert like 'Smith would do to make background vehicles. He can furnish the house and fend off the in-laws with three meatballs and half a texture map. And he knows about whisky. Hair way too long, but you can't have everything.

I'm a 1969 model.  So at least we're all in the same decade.

My registration plate says December 1960. It must have been a good decade for artists.

CrazyDawg ( ) posted Sun, 30 April 2006 at 11:13 PM

yep we can tell what our parents were doing in the 60s now..

I'm a 1961 child, feel like an 1861 child at times.

I have opinions of my own -- strong opinions -- but I don't always agree with them.

Cyba_Storm ( ) posted Mon, 01 May 2006 at 2:46 AM

Listening to some of the crap they call music these days I feel like I wasn't only born in a different decade to todays young people, but on a different planet. Not that I think of myself as old. Crusty on the outside, bakery fresh on the inside.

originalmoron ( ) posted Mon, 01 May 2006 at 4:20 AM

Well, speak for yourself Cyba_storm. I feel crusty inside out. And it's not getting better the older I get. Hmm, I actually think I need a (looks scared over shoulder to check if wife is around) young looking, hot Vicki in a scimpy outfit  to feel young again. On the other hand, dont all men feel that? lol.

OK-OK-WE'RE ALL OLD DECREPID FARTS ALREADY!!!

Eh - ehmm, now - let's talk about little space hover car futuristic sci fi thingamabob doohickies.

WE NEED MORE! - OR - basically anything that would accentuate a city scene on some distant colonial world. as a good resource reference for anybody interested in doing this, a nice collection of links to tutorials and freebies of all relevenant nature - as well as ideas and tips posted here would be great. if you've got a freebie - post a link, if you've got a method or technique - post it.

Also as a footnote - does anybody know a quick and easy way to pry a cat out of a toaster?

Also - does rocky road ice cream make good wall spackling? Inquiring minds wanna know.

All good questions, and while you're making me think....
After they make styrofoam, what do they ship it in?
Before they invented drawing boards, what did they go back to?
Do infants enjoy infancy as much as adults enjoy adultery?
Why do irons have a setting for permanent press?
How can you tell when sour cream goes bad?
How much sin can I get away with and still go to heaven?
How young can you die of old age?
Can you be arrested for selling illegal-sized paper?
If God dropped acid, would he see people?
If all the nations in the world are in debt, where did all the money go?
If work is so terrific, how come they have to pay you to do it?
If the number 2 pencil is the most popular, why is it still number 2?
If you ate pasta and anti-pasta, would you still be hungry?
If you try to fail, and succeed, which have you done?
If you steal a clean slate, does it go on your record?
If you were going to shoot a mime, would you use a silencer?
If you're born again, do you have two belly buttons?
What if there were no hypothetical situations?
Where would we be without rhetorical questions?
Will your answer to this question be no

I'm sorry Phil, I just thought that Original was a kid. Well at least I made him happy. Oh and you know I'm Blonde and senile, therefore I did the math wrong to begin with. I'm a 1962 model myself, twas a great decade!

Oh and I wish I knew how that quote thingy worked. I tried to use it before but got all messed up.
