Does anybody have some new links to fresh MATS and SKIES - or who can contact me / each other to trade materials and skies? We need some fresh stuff around here. I'm particularly interested in Terrains, Techno Mats, and Skies.

(OH MY GOD - I'm beginning to sound repetitive...Is...Is this what's it's like when you begin to lose your sanity?...WAIT...I've already done that! WHEEEEWWWWWW - BIG RELIEF!).

The idea is that we point each other out to some fresh new stuff that we can - DAMN - I'M DOIN IT AGAIN!!!

Hey AS! Is there a link to that most excellent "Flakey-Painty" material? I forgot who the author was. It's an excellent material for simulating layers of flaking paint. I have a personal copy and use it quite a bit.

There's some real nice spaceship mats by..oh yeah..;)

I have links to about a thousand, you want those? I think my mat directory is somewhere around 200 meg at the moment..bit large for email..;)

need more techno mats please

Fran, I sent you (I think) only about 50..;) Hotmail's limited to a 10 meg attachment. How's 254 emails sound?..;) gad..;)

OK, here's the deal. I've been downloading mats since '01.Or was it 02?..;) Now I could send all the mats out, but I don't want to get the anti-piracy crowd after me. Here's what I can do, though.

I can run a query in Access for 'mat', and it will show where every mat I have downloaded is on my CD backups. I also have the URL of where I unloaded it from. I could make this available to whomever wants it, though some of the sites are members of 'club 404'..Lannies' 3d World being a prime example (had some great stuff, but they got vacuumed into oblivion by download accelerators, alas). You could go to these sites and download whatever is still around.

I could zip them all up into 1 big Zip file, but it's going to be holy @#$% for anyone on dialup. Some of these mats are 11 meg all by themselves. I know the Lannies' mats, Ukko 3d's 'USS Derelict' , etc., are either seldom or not available at all.

If AS or Zhann wants to park the zip in the Back Room, it's no nevermind to me. I have thumbnails

of a few hundred, but not all of them (a good many are in freestuff anyways, so go back and see what you're missing.  Wolfie's 3d, Lunariad, 3d Commune, etc., are where I got most of them.

Let me know what you think. I'll try to see if I can zip 'em up tonight. Film at 11..;)

ok..I'm back.  boy was I off..2,000 mats, and zipped up is 369 meg. I have a 911k skies file, which might be a step in the right direction. don't know who could accept a file that large, though.

Calm down on the copyright issues. Please and thank you. What you decide for your items may not be what others decide for their items. That is fine, and that is where the discussion now lays.

I won't tolerate vague poking of members. Such statements (whether playul or not, serious or not)have started fights in the past, so I'm just using my own judgement to be sure the peace is kept.

I didn't bookmark that many times, it was my browser, which kept hiccupping. I've been having a lot of problems with the new format. What I post doesn't always register and I'm having a lot of problems connecting with page links, etc.

Those hiccups happen, they occured in people's browsers a lot even before the php switch, lol.
