Vue F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2024 Nov 29 1:34 pm)
I only used Vue 5 for a little while before Infinite was released. I never had any problems, but with the eco systems being Vue 5 Infinite only, it's impossible for me to go back.
They also have said the 6 word for sometime this year. Hard to say if upgrade now or wait and see. I think someone was selling their copy of Vue 5 Infinite on e-bay. You might want to check out that path...

I upgraded form Vue 4 esprit to Vue 5 esprit and I wish I hadn't bothered! I have a reasonably top end system which exceeds their stated minimum requirements by a long way and I get memory warnings [I have 1 Gig of RAM] with just a handful of stuff in the scene at 1.5 million polygons and then "boom" crashes!
My system so that it's not asked is: 3.4 GHz p4 HT proc. 1 Gig RAM, Radeon X600 pro graphics card, huge hard drive running at 7200 r.p.m.
I thought Poser6 was bad when it came out but at least they've sorted it out! Vue 5 has been out a while now and I waited this long to upgrade because of the problems I had with P6.
I thought by now that any problems with Vue 5 would have been sorted but it's not the case as far as I'm concerned. I am very disappointed in this product!

I have a laptop that's about 4 years old. It's only got 1 gig of ram, and has a 2.something or other processor. (sorry, I haven't looked at the specs in a while.) I use Vue 5 infinite.....and LOVE it. I did buy 5 esprit first, but when I saw the ecosystems feature...I knew I had to uprade. I haven't regretted it once. I do run out of ram, but then the program just goes into a memory saver mode where the objects get shown as boxes. Since it's not a modeling program, and more of a composition program, that usually is ok. I've come to work around it. Perhaps I'm not pushing its limits as much as others...I don't know. I do know that I rarely have problems with it. The updates have all helped the bugs it came with. Overall, I'd say its a great program.
Hope that helps.

Can you import Poser 6 animations into Vue 5 - not infinte? As I cannot seem to do this using the demo - although it isn't saying that I cannot? Is it because it needs mover 5 - which I have upgrade with Vue 4 - if so if I buy the Vue 5 upgrade from Vue 4 will it keep the Mover 5 updte in tact?
Cheers,
Bushy
There will be a Vue 5 specific version of Mover 5 on the installation CD. You will need both the Mover 4 reg number and the Vue 4 reg number (as the Mover number was keyed off of it), and you should be good to go. I'd suggest saving up to get the World Browser and LightTune add ons once you get comfortable with the tweaks in Vue 5. The world browser expands the basic world browser's capabilities, letting you create more layers, and giving access to things like all the Poser body parts. LightTune adds Global illumination and more lighting controls.

Is itn worth upgrading from Vue 4 to Vue 5? - As Ihave read afew comments saying that it is crap & keeps crashing - seem strange to me....
Vue 5 Pros prise is abit high & vue 5 inf - well thats too high for the moment.
If I did upgrade to Vue 5 - will the Mover 4 upgrade to Mover 5 that that you can download with the latest Vue 4 patch work with Vue 5?
Cheers,
Bushy
