Subject: The dust is starting to settle.

Well a new week has begun after all the turmoil of last week, Hope everyone has had a chance to play with Hex 2 (I know I did). All in all it works ok for me not to many problems.

I have also had a chance to explore Daz’s web site as a new PC member and take advantage of some of their great deals such as Pantomine for D/S studio by the way it’s a great way to pose your characters and would be nice to see something like this for Carrara (very intuitive).

I would like to thank Bob for helping me out with my Hexagon purchasing problem, I think both him and Dan Farr stepped up to bat to help answer some of our question.

I know its not easy to see your favorite software bought out by another company, for example Metacreation some of the software did very well like Carrara others not so well such as Bryce, Corel dropped the ball on that one but its nice to see Daz has continued development on it however Carrara is the new Bryce to me and much more.

I don’t personally like to see the software I use change hands but I do feel comfortable that most of the Eovia dev team will still be a part of growing this great product (hopefully with cloth and hair) hint, hint….

Anyways that’s my two cents.

I agree, I hope DAZ does fine.

The test will be is to see how DAZ handles the bugs and future versions of Hexagon and Carrara.

Me too. I'll be a happy camper as long as DAZ treats Carrara5 like the gem it is, and doesn't let it shrivel on the vine like Corel did with Bryce

I hope so, but there were some scary people on the daz forum talking about chopping it up and if it was cheap enough just getting it because they didn't have it. Apparently not aware of what great products they are. That's the very thing that worries carrara/hex users. I just can't see that happening. I see them trying to expand their offerings.Unfortunately, there are some people who just think that way.

How do get on the forum at DAZ? I've been registered for a long time, but when I log in, it says hello and recognizes my name and then spits me out again. If I try to create a new account, it says my e-mail is already in use.

hmmmm... Once you log on you simply go to the forums. Are you sure your password is correct? It may not be being very clear about it being incorrect. The only thing I can thing of based on your desc. (Might be a javascript thing going on with the browser.) The site is php so shouldn't be an issue there with the browser. Check to make sure you don't have a javascript blocker on or another isse.

No, I had them resend me my password and it was right., and I go on numerous types of forums every day with no problem. I even get the DAZ e-mail ads all the time. I can't figure it out??????

So what was your purchasing problem, Dennis445. I bought Hexagon 1.1 on April 6, 2006. I was going to wait for v2, but it said that I could download v1.1 now and I would get a free update to v2 when it became available. I got the email but the link wouldn't work. Haven't tried it since. I went and bought the $1.99 one at DAZ just so I could download what I had already paid $200 for. I contacted DAZ about the voucher which I never got. First it sounded like I was going to get it, but now they say there was some confusion and I don't get it. When went to the Eovia site and used the customer service page to send Elements a request for a refund. Not sure if that's what I was suppose to do or not.

"MeInOhio" I sent a email requesting a refund as the new owners Daz has a policey to refund your payment with in 30 days if your not satisfied with your purchase, I sent Bob a email and he was very proactive in helping me with this problem and refunded me back my pre order.

This was great, I was able to purchase a PC membership buy Hex 2 and a bunch of other things at Daz.

My experience has been very positive so far :)

Thanks for the info. Does Bob work for DAZ or for Eovia?

ren_mem ( ) posted Thu, 04 May 2006 at 6:47 PM

Shame on you...you cookie blocker you. ;) Normally, a script would check for this and fuss at you. Better to have it set to explicitly allow cookies for a few sites and block for everybody else(if you use FF). You just have to remember what you got blocked. Glad you caught it.
