Hi All,

I'm using C5 Pro, and am running into a rendering problem with a scene imported from Poser. The natiive importer gives me good rendering results, but scrambles the scene components all over the place. TransPoser brings in the scene properly, but I'm getting black areas in some transparency mapped areas. Although others work fine.

Here's a jpeg of the problem. As I say, using the native importer avoids this, but trashes the rest of the scene.  In the rendering settings, I do have Transparency, and Light Through Transparency checked.

Do you have the "light through transparency" option checked?

Yes. No effect.

Are the proper masks in the alpha channels? I would check for any differences in the shaders for these parts between the two types of imports.

Gordon, make sure light thru trans is checked at the top AND in the GI section if you use any GI options. That definitely looks like an alpha issue. Many people who get the 5.03 update and above forget the second light thru trans option. The other possibility, which would be odd is that your alpha map is included in the texture and the alpha percentages in the channel are not set right.

No need to think outside the box....
    Just make it invisible.

Hmmm... I'll check into it. Thanks!!
