Subject: WIP texture for Wehrmacht soldier uniform for M3

Still in process but this is what I've got so far. A lot of tinkering to do yet. The fabric texture for the tunic and pants I made myself. This was based on the M43 tunic and pants. As I said still a lot of tweaking left so don't go beating me up...LOL!

Looks good so far

SealTM2, the black squares on the collar and on the front bottom of the jacket, are those errors in the mesh, double sided polygons or something? If so, just let me know and I will check with Ranman38 and we will fix it.

The front of the shoes need to have the highlights made black, and a bit of a duller colour comparing it to your photo. Nice work so far.

The  seamline on the shoulder needs to run a bit higher as well, so that it meets up with the shoulder tab. Not sure how the mapping looks if that is possible at all.

It looks like there are some reversed normals. Is this a P6 render? If so go into the material room and set the normals forward check box on the texture for the jacket and see if that clears up the problem.

Just a little update.. I found a few bad polys. I'm fixing it now. I'll get a new obj file fixed up for you.

Sealtm2,

I have forwarded the fixed object file to Ranman, and Ed had some other suggestions for making this better, so I will wait to hear back from Ranman. As soon as we have it fixed, we will let you know.

The Tank Commander has also been updated and we will be loading that up soon as well.

Hey Helgard,

I think the black squares are something in the mesh they do not go away when rendered. But it appears the Edw has found the problem. There are many things I will be tuning up on the texture  for exmple the seams in the arms and the helmet (it came out a little more bluish than I liked). the main part was making a texture to match the the original tunic.

I still have all the props to do and such. A little at a time

I will continue to improve both the german soldier and the Tank commander. Expect Tank Commander 2.0 to be out this weekend, or early next week with more props, and fixed geometry. I will then try and implement all the changes suggested to the m43tunic. These were my first sets of clothes for poser, so it will take a bit to get good at it.

If there is anyone out there that is good at adding creases and folds to the geometry of the pants, let me know.  randywren@hotmail.com     Thanks

Looking forward to this one when it's finished. Could use it in my Sgt.Rock story.
