Knight-Templar (Method 1) Just drag the channel you want to blur to the "Load Channel" icon at the bottom of the channels layer (it's the dotted circle). That should load the channel, then go to the background layer and duplicate it in case you don't like the effect, then select gaussian blur and just the background should be blurred. (Method 2) Another way would be to duplicate the background, then blur it. Then load the channels of all the objects you don't want blurred (ships for e.g.) and delete from the blurred background. That should do it if I am understanding you correctly.

Hi,
i have rendered a scene in Vue 5 infinite, i have used the advanced render and saved the file as a psd (photoshop) if you output your files as .psd i have every object, it's masking . all aspects of your render all on seperate layers. My problem is this i want to blur the background but not the ships the ships are going to have engine fire painted on using PS later. Now i have tried every way of blurring the background & everytime the ships get blurred to.
Now in PS when the scene is loaded in i have the final scene under the LAYERS tab and in the CHANNELS tab i have the scene broken down by every layer. how can i blur the background and not the ships.
please help
Simon
