That website with it's great utilities was a lifesaver from me when I only had poser 4 and I had the old operating system for my puter OS 9. He has not updated that website in many many years. However poser 5 and 6 runtimes need no converting to work anymore in poser, despite what the readmes on all the merchandise always says that mac users will need blah blah. Not only that but the utilities no longer work on modern macs. However there is a utility for installing folders into your runtimes and even zips if you're brave enough not to unzip them first. It's called ditto. Here's the link. Also if the little thumbnails don't show, which is sometimes a problem with PC poser stuff on a mac, then you need Xshruggy. Both these utilities were made by Kaveman who is a member here. The URL where you can get these utilities is below. The biggest using difference I've found between PCs and macs, is that when you drop a runtime into a folder with a runtime already in it, the new runtime replaces the old one on a mac, whereas on a PC the new runtime's subfolders just go in the right places and merge with the folders already there of the same names, and only files with the same names are replaced and not folders (whereas macs replace the folders and their contents of the same name). Ditto allows you to merge foldres. It's a great utility. Love esther PS I have my mac and my PC networked together and I have poser 6 for both PC and Mac, and I can access the same runtime on my mac from either machine via the network.I aim to update it about once a month. Oh, and it's free!
Yep, in other words all you have to do is copy your entire PC runtime onto your mac HD. As i said you could just access it via an eithernet cable from your mac and leave it on your PC, but that is slower than having it on your mac HD. I think you might have to download bonjour for windows from the apple website, and then connect the two computers together via an ethernet cable, and that way you can copy all your PC stuff to your mac easilly. (I hope) Were you planning to get an intel Mac BTW? I haven't got that, I have a G5 which actually might work faster for poser. Love esther
I aim to update it about once a month. Oh, and it's free!
Just moving this up as I've seen some MAC questions. Maybe some of these utilities will help.
