It's not as much my move to Carrara as my lack of time in real life. Mahray has kept things up and running, so has Drawbridgep and Xenic, and I thank them for that, but I think it's time I should shut it down.

I'm trying to clear a lot of the excess weight on the server, such as WoB and thewings3dsite (which is largely outdated) as well as the older WoB still on blogger.

What I'm thinking of doing is giving all the artists who have access to the freewriters ftp account direct links to their stuff (should you have a web page set up there) from the front page. The rest of the stuff will be my own.

So yeah. This doesn't mean I'm asking you to host your models elsewhere, simply that the site that generally linked to them will dissapear and a solution will be sought for you. All models will still be found at freewriters.ca/models and freewriters.ca/artists.

Cheers, any suggestion is welcome. If you do know of a way for people to just manage their own spaces in a more coherent framework that does not need my direct supervision or regular check-ups please speak up now. As well, I'm still willing to host people's models, through the usual channels of contact, i.e. email, site IM, or by visiting us at rendergods.com.

If you have php and mysql on your hoster you could use a content magagement package like Mambo or several other flavors out there. They're all open source and free to used as well.

thanks corwin, i'm familiar with cms's. wob actually uses wordpress, and i've used postnuke and the like on the site quite a few times in the past :)

PostNuke I wouldn't recommend. It's not nearly as secure as some others.

possibly, but it's one of the most advanced ones out there. depends what you want to do with the site, really :)

Sorry i havent replied to this earlier and i have a question to ask.

Will it be possible to load the images to the models your hosting for me as i have just recently noticed they are missing from my link (home page at rendo) here to your site and dont refresh to show picture. The only one showing is the one hosted by the backroom here.
