Hi All....New to poser,a old time maya,XSI user...

I was hoping I could get some tips and info from you experts?Alot of questions...Sorry.

I was looking into Face-o- rama for Boopsie for the "Girl"...   http://market.renderosity.com/mod/bcs/index.php?ViewProduct=38429  and wondered if anyone could tell me more about it? is it a good product? helpful in altering character appearance?

Also wanted to know what you think of "Paradise hair"...   http://market.renderosity.com/mod/bcs/index.php?ViewProduct=31088   Is it the best for the girl?Or is there a better option hair wise for the girl out there?

And as for skins? For the girl and or V3....which is best for realistic skin?

And finally.... Can I use eyes or eye sets for V3 for the "Girl"...? And which eye set is best for the girl?

Ok...Out of breath, too many questions.Sorry.But I sure hope you can help me out in any way possible. Thanks very much for your time, and any possible help you may be able to bring me.Thanks again, very much....

Hi Rod

I personally dont use "the girl" but I reckon your best bet is to perhaps do a search in the galleries, and find someone who has used her / the product in one of their images, and IM them or mail them and ask. Or perhaps just ask the store vendor... hope this helps

Hi Rod,

I'm a bit confused because you're asking questions about GIRL, who is a very stylised cartoon model, but looking for realistic skin textures? Is that right?

If you're after photorealism then I would suggest buying skin sets made for V3 and just use the V3UV version of GIRL. This gives the advantage of giving you a character you can also use on a V3 model. My favourite texturers in this area are Morris, Rhiannon, ExprssnImg, Ilona, lluque and Shahara.

For hair, again everyone has their favourite merchants and styles. Personally I find the Paradise hair too recognisable, it's just been done to death for me. My favourite hair makers: kozaburo, SWAM, Quarker, Lisbeth. Neftis is also great but her hair is very highpoly and can really slow down renders.

You could try Macey's GIRL Eyes Textures in the marketplace.   It's a very good set.

Gora: Thankyou.....I will start checking now, good idea.

karen1573: Hi.... Yes her being a stylised cartoon model is why I love her to begin with... I plan on mixing in a realistic toon skin texture for her in Max/maya afterwards along with my chosen V3 skin..... caricature style is the way I want to go with this.....So the hair makers you suggested work for the girl?As well as the eyes for V3 skins,do they also work with the girl?........Thanks for all the great info,a major help,I will go and choose from your picks right away.

Thankyou again for your help, really appreaciated.

Morgano: Macey's GIRL Eyes Textures ....Ok I will be checking up on these now, thanks for the tip.

Off to search and buy I go.......Thanks everyone....

Yes, GIRL V3UV will take any V3 eye texture (or M3, David, Steph, Aiko or other Unimesh figure for that matter.) The hair makers mentioned above have some products which include fits for the Girl. Above image uses the Shayonea hair by SWAM (Renderosity MP) which has a fit included. You will find many makers have stopped including GIRL fits since her sales have dropped off dramatically (mainly since Aiko came onto the market.) The texture I used above is from Morris' International Beauty pack, which is at Daz.

Ok thanks again karen....One more question for this total noob please.....  Is the V3UV version of GIRL the one sold at Daz? Or can I get that here?

Ok thanks very much again.

If you installed the Girl in the default location and haven't moved her since, she will be in a folder called "DAZ the Girl".  I'm on Windows, so I don't know what the folder / file names would be on a Mac.   I am pretty sure the Girl is exactly where I originally put her.   I have, at the top, " !The Girl BLANK ".   Next down is " !The Girl  ".   Third is the one Karen mentioned:  " The Girl V3UV ".   You should have all of these in your basic set (from DAZ) already.
