Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2025 Feb 07 8:53 pm)
You can, do just what you want, there are two programs Injection Pose Builder and Injection Magic, both availible at DAZ which will allow you to save a custome character to your figure library than use the tool to create a morph pose which both loads all the injections and sets the dials, once you have don that you can apply that pose directly to an unloaded V3 and only those morphs will be loaded. any morphs in your original figure that are set to zero get ignored by these tools so dont get loaded.

I made myself a character creation figure by using Vic3 NG as a base and adding all the Daz head and body morphs & saving the resulting figure to the library. Great, I can easily morph her into an endless variety of characters for my graphic projects.
I spin the dials for an hour or so and end up with a character I like, but (as you can imagine) the resulting Cr2 is MASSIVE (213MB).
So how do I make my characters usable?
I've been trying to get to grips with this one for some time. I've tried:
Spawning morphs for all relavant body parts, transfering these in MM to a base Vic3 Cr2 and making an FBM for the character shape. Something nearly always messes up with this technique, especially if certain morphs have been used (like stretch neck for example), and often the result is pretty scrappy.
Exporting the figure as a .obj, re-importing and using the base Vic3 as a donor rig in the setup room. This also usually results in scrappy results, with body part joins not smoothing properly.
Using dial cleaner utilities to clear unused morphs. Never got this to work at all - is there no way to remove zero morphs using a python script?
What I really want to be able to do is form my characters using the craracter creation figure I've put together, then have that body shape as a single FBM and be able to inject just the expression and muscular morphs as and when required.
Perhaps I've gone down a blind alley in using a creation figure with all the morphs injected(?). This approach just seemed intuitive - I have all the morphs injected from the start so I can quickly see what is there to work with as I'm creating.
Are there any known tutorials/approaches for using injection based figures in this way, an dparing down the final character?
At the moment I seem to spend more time trying to make my characters usable than I do morphing them in the first place.
