I've got the manfrotto 190DB. Works perfectly with my Nikon D70 and Sigma zoom.

Another vote for Manfrotto 190
Head is personal taste and what you will be using it for you really need to try out the ball heads and the pan and tilt see which suits you best.
Anything but a Benbo Octupus - Jeeeeeeez I had one of those at the weekend to take dragon fly shots etc. The legs definitely multiply when you try to use it I am sure there were more than 3 ! I gave up with it but my colleague perserved he said it was good once you got used to it
And every one said, 'If we only live,
We too will go to sea in a Sieve,---
To the hills of the Chankly Bore!'
Far and few, far and few, Are the lands where the Jumblies
live;
Their heads are green, and their hands are blue, And they went to
sea in a Sieve.

Manfrotto 055CLB with a 141RC pan and tilt head.
Solid and sturdy enough without the need for a caddy to carry it, and can be used at a very low height, stands up to the cruel Highland winds, weight it can take is 6K (plenty for what I need)
They wouldn’t have made the cane if you weren’t meant to break the rules

Use it for landscape and still life macro.

So I've searched and read all of the threads on tripods but I wanted to know what tripods everyone has got, why they like it and what they mostly use it for. I wanna get a fancy tripods, got a giottos 1.5kg 1.6m extend but it can't hold my 350D and Sigma zoom without tilting, so... You see the problem.
I'm just asking to gauge what everyone uses theirs for and what are the best features for them - and you know what I didn't even know that heads came as changables!!! So head too please :}
Kisses to all that answer - hugs for the ladies.
