Subject: Don't make my mistake!!!!

thefixer ( ) posted Fri, 02 June 2006 at 10:38 AM · edited Sun, 12 January 2025 at 9:00 AM

I discovered Poser about 3 years ago and Rendo about the same time. When I looked at the galleries I really only concentrated on the Poser gallery and images up until recently in all honesty, mainly because of time but maybe because I love my own app. so much [lol].

What a dumb ass!!!

I stopped myself from seeing some really stunning artwork in the other galleries which I am just discovering lately and I mean some stunning work in Vue, 2D, Maya, Max, terragen etc. etc.

If you are like I was and only browse the Poser gallery, do yourself a favour and look at the other galleries or you will miss some stunning art from stunning artists!!!!!!

Soul searching over!!!

I acctually find pretty good inspiration for my Poser work in the Photography posted here. So it's not only to look at the pretty pictures, but by breaking out of the poser box you can acctually improve your poser skills. Maybe we can get some Shirt-On Viki's in temples with swords then ;D

A good number of my favourite artist work in other media.  Before Poser, I was Paint, Pencil and Photoshop.  I recently posted some of my non-Poser work and I love to see other people's stuff, from sketches to photographs and everything in between.

Viewing only one "genre" is like only ever eating at McDonald's or only ever playing one CD.

I really couldn't tell you how it's spelled.  The last time I ate there was when Ilona took me to one in Brazil.  Which is really weird, when you think about it.

Over here, I'd rather eat my own earwax. :D

I've got my gallery thing set to "all" and "all" so I don't miss anything. it may surprise some to learn that the poser stuff is only a fraction of the total images.

@thefixer:

I most certainly will not make your mistake, or even anything based on it (except for my own personal use). It's YOUR mistake, any attempt on my part to make a copy of it would be a clear infringement of copyright, and would probably involve me in boring/angry discussions with 'Rosity mods and/or lawsuits, possibly causing me to have to go into hiding to avoid bounty-hunters, fatwahs....

:biggrin:

Cheers,
Diolma

@Diolma

Good job you put the smiley or I might have had to report you to the mods or better still sent a letter to the "chuckle brothers" [Blair & bush] and have you nuked off the planet!!!!

I'm not really into photography because it's always seemed to me that anyone can buy a camera and take a picture;  no talent needed. However, I've seen some stunning photos in the photography gallery, and some very interesting subjects, and at least in some cases,  I've come to have greater respect for photography as an art form.

I've also seen some extremely beautiful fractals.

And the 2D gallery blows me away!!! Some of the drawings and sketches are mind boggling.

There are so many wonderfully talented people in the Renderosity community.

2d, Bryce, Vue, Blender and Wings, to name a few.
I also browse the Writer's gallery and every now and then, i post a short story there as well. G

You're right Acadia, anyone can buy  a camera, or Poser or 3D Max or any other software or device to create imagery with. But can they capture a fantastic mood or image? LOL! Hardly! Artists should never scoff at the artwork of mediums they don't use. It just shows that they can't see beyond their own medium and makes them look silly! That of course, is just my own humble hobbie artist's opinion. Your mileage may vary. :rolleyes:

You seem to have missed the second sentence in that paragraph :)

It's a matter of time to look at it all, too. It takes hours just to go through the Poser gallery because RR is running so slow lately. I am trying to learn Terragen, but I never have enough time, LOL!

Yes indeed.  Ilona is even lovelier in person than her online persona would have you imagine.  Brazil ain't too shabby, either.

As for the burger bar, I saw the boards around the stadium today, watching the England match - and it's McDonald's.  :)
