I dunno or I am taking more notice. I think I am losing it or I am getting confused. My imagination doesn't seem to intice anyone. When I put my latest image in Renderosity I get very, very little replies and credits. But the person who puts up an image beside mine (or a page back or ahead) with huge breasts showing that is beyond reality that makes it look like the chic can break her back or fall forward, gets high amounts of "Excellents" and makes it number 1 for best image. The Breast Logos help. Or a womans private part showing widely. Those types of images are not suppose to be in Renderosity, but they sure get through. Then some do not. If I want to see images like that, their is porno sites, but I am surely against those to. I got my wife to show me that stuff, that is one good reason why I am married. I can touch and see for real, and not see images imagining so. I sure get confused what renderosity is suppose to be. I do not understand and I am confused what people want to see. I have to decided to take my shopping, images elsewhere, until a clean up is in the process. It is really difficult and embarressing to look at the image gallery with thumbs that show breasts, then my kids, wife, then unexpected guest come around wondering what the hell I am looking at. My computer is not in the dungeon.

Why not set your profile so that it filters nudity out for you. That way you won't even see the thumbnails.

Yes, as karen suggests, re-set your profile.

Do remember also that just because you haven't got alot of comments doesn't mean that nobody likes what you do. Yeah, it can make you wonder if maybe the image is just crap, (i think we've all been there at some time or other) , but  you may get alot of views but people don't always have the time to comment, or may not be able to put into words their feelings/reactions/ideas and so don't bother.  It can be a bit off putting when you see, as you said, the big breasted, naked women images getting loads of credit, and you feel you've done something more meaningful which you'd like others to view. (human nature eh? a bit of bare skin and the crowds come running...lol)  It doesn't mean your art is not good enough/valid. Do what you truly want to do and be proud of that. That's the most important thing I think. There are some outstanding images on this site, both in concept and technical skill, and not all of those get loads of comments or votes. And if it helps, remember alot of great artists in history were not that well thought of in their day!

I know it's clliche, but beauty is  in the eye of the beholder.

Ah ok, yes...correction. I did have Nudity filter off and not checked for a reason. So I can images like Vali, prog and other poser artists. Without it, I will miss those. But now, the dirt is coming in, and the gallery is starting to change unrespectively. The world is getting crazy, I guess it is allowed.

Yes, that is the problem. People are allowed to express freedom of speech, and expression. Half will say it is ok, and other half will say it is not. That is what makes freedom of speech and expression confusing. Abuse freedom of speech or live with it. That is why the world is going crazy, and how I see it happening in renderosity. It is how it is represented, and controlled. I do not see that here now.  

I have my gallery prefs set to "all" and "all", and in that way I've noticed only a small fraction of total posts are giant boobs. but it's risky to the psyche to post images in hopes of peer approval. it may be safer to post images just for the joy of sharing one's work with others. they may not say anything, they may not leave comments, but they may still enjoy viewing one's work.

That's probably because we do a good job of weeding out the most objectionable and obvious TOS violations before they've been up even an hour :-) In any given week, we're removing images of intercourse, webcam shots of erect penises, "readers wives" style crotch shots to make a gynaecologist blush, just about every sex act you can imagine... and a lot you can't and wouldn't want to!

I think most of us go through a stage where we realise that it can be a case of "only tits get the hits", and that can be pretty depressing. How come my beautifully realised image of a man trapped inside his own head, which took me dozens of hours to make, only gets 42 hits and one comment, whereas Mr Raging Hormones next to me slaps a free texture on a V3, dials her boobs up to maximum, renders her staring, expressionless, into the distance, and has 4 times the hits and comments?

After a while I came to realise that there's very little you can do about it... it's the nature of this place that there ARE a proportion of people here who simply come to look at nudes, with no distinction between artistic expression and "SHOW ME THE MONEY!" These are the people who ocassionally write to us saying our TOS is far too restrictive and we're the fascist lackeys of conservative thought for not letting them post their spiritually-uplifting render of a woman having sex with a dog ;-)

I also realised that there are nice comments and useful comments. A nice comment says something like "OMG wowz ur totally excellent luv u hun xoxoxo VOTE!" A useful comment might say, "I love what you've done with the shadows", or "I really like her expression" or even "The posing is great but I'm not keen on the lighting" to "Not up to your usual standard, you forget to check "cast shadows" or what??"

It can be hard to get useful comments like this, because many people shy away from critiquing for fear of giving offense. So if that's what you're after, I'd suggest putting "Constructive criticism welcomed", or posting WIPs in the forums. When you get a useful comment, thank that person, encourage them to visit your gallery again. And most of all... make comments of your own on other people's work, especially if you work in similar styles or themes. Turnabout is fair play... I will often check out the gallery of someone who has commented on my work, and comment on theirs.

Whew... hope some of that helps, my fingers ran away with me there ;-)

I've been confused since shortly after I went to Primary school. Up until that time, I hadn't met anyone who was outside of my family, and/or relatives/friends of the family.

After I went to Primary school (at age 5), things started to get confusing.
As I got older, things just got more confusing.
Currently, I'm in a "Maximally Confused But Just Tune It Out And Carry On Regardless" state.
Wonder what comes next (it's bound to be confusing...)

I can not argue...I really can not. It is very difficult. People want to show/see tits, also people want to see the other area, oh yeah...the other area. It is starting to happen very slowly. I showed you Karen that one image. Their is many.  Eventually you allow one through, then others will follow and it will take form. Later on, their will be so many of em, that how images are to be expressed here at renderosity will be forgotten and it will change, it will get out of hand. Then if can stop it before its to late, ask yourself.."Where did we go wrong?". I was embarressed the other day, when my brother in law came here and saw me look in the gallery. I never turned red before. I felt as if I violated life as he looked discusted. The thumbs did it. Renderosity shouldn't be embarressing.  I have to go else where. This is not a civil oriented website.

Yeah but the Beavis & Butthead (or Kevin & Perry if you're British) crowd do have a disproportionate influence on the galleries here.  I think, though, with the greatest respect for his opinions, that Robo is being a little oversensitive about this. Nudity, even full frontal, need not be crass vulgarity.

After all these years, I come to a conclusion it is time to move to another site. I do not feel comfortable here at Renderosity anymore. I deleted all my images and other things (Cleaned out my locker). I haven't met a friend, or came acustom to anyone, on anyones favorite artists list. Maybe I am pushing it now. I am saying something here. The thing is Mcdonalds, any any fast food, Wa-Mart, Zellers, sears...any franchise...etc..etc can lose one customer, and they couldn't care less, because their will be 10 more coming in to take that one persons place. That is the business now a days anywhere. Renderosity is not a franchise, but they are on the internet. The internet is a angry place, and I thought Renderosity was a warm place from that. But now,  I am starting to see dirt come in (Or its always been their and I am seeing it now), and it is getting pathetic, even in the RMP. I am looking for a good comfortable, friendly enviroment, where I can spend my money on good things that is needed for my Poser(6), so I can work on my Animation project. It is up to Renderosity to form their business the way they like it, I can not change it but put a heads up. But I am just one person out of how many I dunno (many thousands).

Sorry to hear that Robo. I don't ever like to see people leave but ultimately if you're not comfortable with the nudity here, then... well, I hope you find a place where you feel more at home.

As Karen stated Robo, we are sorry to hear this but she is right, if you aren't comfortable with the nudity here then you will probably feel more comfortable at a place whose Terms Of Service and guidelines are different than our own.
