Vue F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2024 Dec 30 8:14 pm)
Mike, so far as I can tell, the texture flipping is only necessary when you apply the texture by hand AFTER the model is imported. If you ship it out of Poser already textured, it textures correctly when you bring it into Vue. You still have to flip bump maps and trans maps, though, since Vue doesn't read them from the mtl file that goes with the object. Kate
Sorry to be slow in responding. Been doing my taxes :O Vue is funny about this whole import of Poser characters. (bet you already know that!) For instance, I imported a Vickie based character the other day and the uv was correct on the body for everything EXCEPT her nipples, which were mapped upside-down! In general, What Kate said is true. However, if you see anything that looks goofy, you can usually fix it by selecting the material for that part and inverting the Y scale. I've gotten into the habit lately of importing the Poser object into Polytrans and converting it into 3DS. I get fewer surprises that way. -SMT
I'd rather stay in my lane than lay in my stain!

To SMT, In another thread, you mentioned that Poser figures exported as .OBJ and imported into Vue 3.1 won't have the textures mapped correctly without changing the Y scale (or is it position) to -1.00. I've been trying to see what you mean, but all looks OK to me. This is Poser 4 I'm talking herte, BTW. I'm not doubting you, but what is it I'm not noticing? Thanks, Mike
