Hey guys,

Many of you may have already seen this project, but it has come back now, asking for more 'pop'.  He's referring to the copper overhangs.  Basically, I need advice here.  He says it doesn't 'sparkle' the way it should.

So #1, does anyone know how to make a certain metal 'sparkle'...sort of maybe a more sublte fools gold effect or what quarts does in the sunlight?

Any other ideas for me, homies? Should I have some sort of lighting effect? Rays through the (nn-existent) clouds?

Why not use a copper material from the Vue MAT library? Or take a gold or silver mat and give it a reddish tone- then that would look like a shiney copper...

Slide the highlights up to 100 and lower the shine to 50. Good luck

maybe a bit of bump will help

Ryan,

Create a spotlight and set it to affect only the roof. Move it around until you get a bit of a sharp highlight of the roof. A metal roof looks 'metallic' when reflecting light. Remember a Copper material doesn't have white highlights, but rather orange ones.

First - some sort of highlight using a noise map to control the highlighting to kind of ripple possibly?

Second- where'd you get those cat tails and do they wiggle in the wind?  If so, I need to know.

Hmnn...never tried a noise map...anyone got a tut?

The cattails come with Vue.  They are the 'Reeds', and yep, they wiggle.

Ryan, Just crank the luminocity and reflectivity. That should work! (Materials > Effects > Luminocity)
