I see what you mean.
It makes me want to delete all my thumbnails just to have a uniformed look.
Maybe if they had a table of sorts that sets frames around the postings without thumbnails and set the padding to center the links.
Lets just see what they come up with. It is a huge undertaking....

What I would like:
I don't think people should have to edit all of their writings in the gallery for them to set up properly on the page. It's not a big deal for a small gallery, I guess, but it is tedious for a large one.
I would like a "remove" button on the initial view of my gallery...I had to go into each item to delete it and that was another unnecessarily tedious exercise.
Take SusieQ's suggestion about how to set up the writer's gallery front page so that items without thumbnails wouldn't be so squashed.
It should not be necessary to know CSS to make selections of common options. You may be a whiz at CSS, and so may the majority of people, but I am not feeling all warm and fuzzy about it.
My homepage shows, curiously enough, thumbnails of what I have already deleted from the gallery. I assume eventually the homepage will be synchronized with the galleries. Not that anyone would look, but if I delete from one place, I expect the item to be deleted from the other.
A non-gallery item. How does one override the double spacing between paragraphs? Without having to go into the misery of CSS (have we established that I am not going to learn CSS just to make life easier for Renderosity?)
I am sure the site will speed up as things progress.
That's my immediate grumbles.
Hello. Is the server here fixed? Did they change to a 'new' server in their gallery switch? I see it was down for the 'intial changeover' and then again for some time wednesday.
Right now, it is CRAWLING for me. Takes 3 minutes on Broadband to load up a page? Grrr ....
SUSIQ and whomever: I saw this thread post and I also finally was able to view your same info/upload in the writer's gallery.
When I tried to click onto my previous uploaded image, LABELS, I brought up the page after 3 minutes, clicked onto 'edit' and did so.
However, it then said ---- "The notes for your image exceed the maximum size for this gallery (4096 characters). Please adjust your notes and try again."
???? LOL!
So, it appears to dumb old me, that the previous character limitations are now reduced? To 4096 characters per written uploaded piece? What was the 'old' limit of characters?
I just now tried to upload a new written work which was less in length/pages than my LABELS prior work but it gave me the same, above 4096 error message. ???
QUESTION 1: How does one 'count' easily the numbers of characters in a Microsoft WORKS Word document?
QUESTION 2: When one says 'characters' is that only relevant to actual typed 'characters' or does it include how man 'lines' of space is being used in a copy/paste document from top to bottom?
Is one 'line' across considered one 'character'?
Thanks, in advance, for any and all help. MUCH appreciated.
Are moderators here being told exactly 'why' the slow speeds of this site still and if/when it will be back to something decent?
Respectfully,
TallPockets/brian.
SUSIQ: on a somewhat lighter note ....
I saw a pop up ad for Filips Trees And Plants just now.
Is that something related to 'art' or a place T.P. can buy his 2006 xmas tree? WINK.
Now, instead of getting, waiting for www.renderosity.com I
I get, waiting for excalilbur renderosity .com LOL
I think I remember seeing the movie, Excalibur awhile back ....
If my old memory serves me correctly, the sword, excalibur, was stuck deeply
into a huge boulder/rock and whomever could remove it would become
"The Chosen One''? ....
Methinks this site may need such a chosen one? WINK.
SMILES. T.P.

''max 25000 characters,''
Well, after perusing the writer's gallery areas just now, it appears that things can be edited
ok again and that the maximum characters has been increased from the 4096 to the above
maximum 25000 characters?
Thanks for the 'help'. WINK.
I never thought a 'writer's site' would be SO quiet with information. SMILE.
My best, TallPockets.
P.S. .... I hope this means that 'terrorists' did NOT capture anyone. WINK2.
QUESTION TO RENDEROSITY:
I use Netscape 7.2 browser. Does anyone else here?
Do you also have the 'problem' with the 'forums' at this site
of when clicking onto it, it brings the forum area site up ok
but then it 'pauses' for 15-20 seconds EACH time before it
'moves'?
Any explanation for this? Or shouldn't I ask? WINK.
