The sickest thing I remember wanting to write about was the Columbine High School tragedy. What struck me deeply, as a writer, was the incident where one of the young gunmen whispered in a girl’s ear, “Do you believe in God.” When she replied, “yes,” he shot her, dead!
As I was watching the events unfold, I sat and wrote a short story. Unfortunately I have a fatal writer’s flaw, I cannot bring myself to exploit a tragedy for my own gain. Although it will never be read by anyone but myself, it was still an emotional catharsis of the event.

There are days that I start writing at two or three in the morning and find myself still dressed in my jammies when the mailman delivers packages [usually books from Amazon.com] in the late afternoon.

I was on holiday to Florida a few years ago with a group of friends, and shortly after our meal was served, two ladies sat in a booth across from us. They were wonderfully loud, flamboyant, and dramatic. When I left, I introduced myself, bought them desert, and to their amusement, I thanked them for the great dialog.

If not for the bluebook tests [where you write your final exams essay-style in a little book with a blue cover], that I would never have graduated college. I loved turning an answer into a mini-story.

#5: My school had nazi teachers and the vice principal was an abusive bytch, so alot of my stories involve revolutionaries/anarchists vs. opressive governments. Does that count? Actually, after that my life hasn't been very violent or stessful at all, but oddly enough my stories have some really horrible violence: lots of beatings and fights, some torture, one has a plot that centers around organ theives.
#8: I'm wearing a baggy t-shirt and a pair of sweat pants right now and that's my standard outfit.
#10: Not very often but a remark I made in a cafe years ago caught the attention of a writer who was there with her notebook. She asked me if she could use it and I said yes.
#12: Misspelled signs make me laugh. My mom's friend sent her a slide show full of mistakes like that and it's still funny to me. SOTP.
