Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2025 Feb 18 5:11 pm)
Being sick sucks for sure, personally I have a freaky fear of doctors and hospitals so I really feel aweful for you. Glad to hear you are now on your way to feeling better. To bad your folks couldn't go unhook alllll your stuff........lol j.k Internet and poser withdrawls, yikes hard to rest that way....Ah well, maybe while watching some goofy t.v show you'll see something really cool to make in poser ;)
At any rate, enough of my ramble. Hope to see you up and feeling well (and poserized) real soon! Take care of yourself.
I saw the thread title and hoped is was merely related to unrequited love. I'm sorry it's physical and wish you the best and a speedy recovery. Someone very near and dear to me had major heart issues in her early 20s. She's now in her late 40s and doing very well. The future is not black.
Before they made me they broke the mold!

My best regards and hopes for a full recovery. Keep in mind that Dick Cheney (yes, that Dick Cheney) had his first Heart Attack when he was 28 and has had 3 or 4 since then. He is currently 69 years old, so this bodes well for you to have a long life, as you have not yet seemed to have had any overt damage to your heart. Maybe a micro-defib unit might need to be inplanted, but these too are routine procedures. Best of Luck.

Sorry to hear about it Starkdog. If it's any consolation though, I'm 48, I had a triple bypass at age 37 after months of angina, a heart attack in 2002 (thanks to my ex wife springing a divorce on me lol), angiogram in November last year and angioplasty in January this year. Now i'fmfeeling fit as a fiddle and starting to take up archery again which i had to give up due to the ticker problems.
I hope your angiogram gives hopefull news but even if you have to go the bypass route it's almost a routine operation these days. Keep optimistic, avoid stress and hopefully you'll avoid joining me in the zipper club.
O.o Starkdog! Recover! It's an order!
Geez that's no age to have heart problems in!
Uhm.. and I'm probably not going to win any points for this, but if the avatar is you... you should probably go in a severe diet (easier said than done I KNOW, I weigh about 200 pound myself and I ought to weigh around 120)
But for now: Recover. My mome is just getting over her latest bypass. She's 76. Hart problems doesn't need to be a sign of short life, but of course it IS a sign that you should take care! So.. take care!
And Lemur! OMG! I thought I was safe for being 40 and not yet "old enough" for that sort of problems!I wish you all the best as well! :o) And yeah, Bypass is a routine operation most places, and with immediate effects! Great thing!

You just can't put the words "Poserites" and "happy" in the same sentence - didn't you know that? LaurieA
Using Poser since 2002. Currently at Version 11.1 - Win 10.
hey Starkdog - you DO AS YOU ARE TOLD!!!!! and get yourself back to full health (tho being a Poser Addict can lead to problems). Seriously - a change of exercise, diet regime, and a general self monitoring of your health can be better preventative treatment (cures are usually traumatic). I have health problems myself (not heart related) but theyre largely things I can't do much about ........... but you're only 28 - my son's that age - and I like to think he (and such as you) would easily have another 60 odd years ahead .......... Lecture over
take care

WOW!!! Thanks for the encouraging words. I just checked my e-mail, and saw the ebots, hehehe. As for the Angiogram, my arteries are clear, and there are no structural problems with my heart. They did that to rule out any blockages or narrowing of arteries. The cardiologists concluded that it is an electrical problem, causing the atria(top half of heart) to beat prematurely, causing a strange heart rythym on EKG. I am on meds to control my heart beat and I feel MUCH better. Ironically, I have been dieting since late April, and have already shed 20 lbs. I have another 30-40 lbs to go until I can reach single digit bodyfat percentage. The doctors have said that losing the 20 lbs has made things easier on my body, and they cannot wait to see me leaner. This was a BIG wake-up call, and I have made numerous lifestyle changes for the better. I still have to take it easy for 2 weeks before I can resume any physical activity. I can't wait to go golfing and play some racquetball. Unfortunately, I have to slowly wean myself off of coffee, down to 1-2 cups per day. I can easily drink a pot without any ill effects, but the doctors want me to cut WAY back. I'm just warning you about future incoherent posts I may make- it's due to lack of caffeine!!! Take care guys and girls, and I'll be back later this weekend. -Starkdog
Glad to hear you're on the up lad! If you're ever in Northern New Hampshire we need to play a few rounds of golf. The courses up here are beautiful!!

They told me that an Angiography was painless, the lyings SOB's! I'm like 20 years older than you and still too young for this crap.
Man, you take good care of yourself. Get some exercise (what the Doc's will allow...) and some rest, and smart eating habits, quit smoking, drinking, sex, rock&roll, and... ...oh, sorry about that. Flashbacks.
Man, be careful, follow instructions, take it easy for the next few days. We've had far too many people dying around here without getting proper permission in advance. Be sure to have them check your cholesterol; and if they give you anything like Pravastin or Lipator, make sure to read all the precautions for warning signs of allergic reactions.
Be good, take care, see ya next week.

Hey Starkdog,
I wish you all the luck in the world. I had an open heartoperation last year because the partition between the mayor heartchambers was too thick. This was caused by an genetic defect. For years I was suffering from arythmics and condition loss. I had to take several tests before my cardiologist could make his diagnostic. An heartecho showed at last the problem.I had two options to solve the problems, one of that was the operation, which I choose. Now, more than year later, my condition is better than it was for, I think, more than ten years. I was not aware of the operation itself, but the recovery was very heavy: I stayed 16 days in hospital, and had to stay home for two and a half month. A very positive thing was that I could spent a lot of time on poser, which I did.
But the worst thing isn't the operation, it's the uncertainity before it. And man, I know all about that because it affects all around you, your family, your friends. I hope you get a lot of support of them.
I wish you all the best and I hope you will recover soon.
best regards,
Bopperthijs

hey - glad your heart is structurally normal and arteries are clean. lots of people have arrhythmias. don't wory bout the weight loss part - it's very easy. they must be newbies. in the parameters window u will find a dial called "heavy". just dial it bbackwards..now look for a dial called skinny. If u can't find the dials then u will need more injections... email me if u get stuck. love esther
I aim to update it about once a month. Oh, and it's free!
Take good care of yourself, Starkdog. My best wishes to you.

Whoa!!! I am finally back in my apartment, and doing laundry, cooking, and cleaning. I am taking it slow, as I don't want to hurt myself, but I am healing quite well, and just have a minor ache where they went in. I thank you all once again for the many "get-wells"- this is why I like this community- we look out for each other. I have been up most of the night getting my Poser and Hexagon fix- ahhh it's good to be back in the saddle. I have SO MANY ideas, I don't know where to start. I do, however, have a few things in the works for Farris, and the Poser6 kids. Which reminds me, are the kids getting revamped too, like Jessi, James, Koji, and Miki? -Starkdog
Starkdog,
glad you're home and feeling better.
Yeah, had an angio back when i was 38. Man ir hurt!
My arteries are getting clogged and yet I'm on a low fat, low choles diet.
But I'm 60 now and still moving around (slow, but moving). :)
Take good care of yourself.

As I am far from being well myself these days, I don't come here too often. This is why I just saw this post. I'm glad to see you're back at your apartment Starkdog. Take care of yourself. And please don't make the same mistake I made when my doctor recommended I reduce my caffeine intake... I started drinking only decaf that day... I ended up in the hospital with all the doctors thinking I was having a heart attack. It was only the withdrawal from caffeine. ;o) Note that the same applies to any major change you have to make in your lifestyle: take it easy and step-by-step.
Good luck and take care!

Hiya,
I'm so glad to hear that you are doing better. Yea, being over weight can be not only burdensome it can kill you if your not careful. I have a dear friend that really struggles with it and being the Capricorn that I am (father type) I can get pretty harsh but now I realize years later that he has to do it for himself. He's suffered with diverticulitis and has had a couple of operations on his intestines to remove it and he still put most of his weight back on. He tries (kinda) but keeps "giving up" on himself. He's about 300 lbs again, 47 years old and his whole family is like that: Large and love food and drink way too much. His path, not mine.
You, Mr. are to not only listen to your doctor but to your body as well and while you need to cut back on the coffee keep in mind that coffee has been shown to have very good anti oxident effects on the body. A coffee expert I know (trained in Italy) told me that get ONLY ORGANIC coffee beans and grind them yourself. No chemical residue nor pesticides on the organics. Whole Foods or some place like that is best. Keep your self hydrated with WATER and what ever tempts you in the way of food and drink banish from your home, it's safer that way.
I hate hearing of news like this but you are sounding positive and that's half the battle. Take good care and get well Mr.!! :-)
All the very best to you
Richard ;-)~

Hello all,
I have been gone from Rosity for about a week, and will not be back online until sometime Sunday. I am currently resting at my parent's house. I had been in the hospital a few times with heart problems. I have an arrythmia which first looked like atrial fibrulation, and was placed on Digoxin and Coumadin. My blood quickly thinned out to the point that I was passing out. I was hospitalized about 2 weeks ago, and was taken off of those meds. I continued to have an irregular beat, and started to have chest pains on Monday. I went to the ER, where I was stabilized, and moved to a critical care room. I had an Angiogram done first thing Tuesday morning. I was placed on 3-5 days of bed rest, and I am staying at my parent's house, because it is one level- unfortunately my apartment is on the second floor, and the doctors do not want me climbing stairs until next week.
What is really scary about all of this, is that I just turned 28!!! It is a weird feeling being the youngest patient in the department. I am on new medications, and feel MUCH better. In the mean-time, I have come up with several things I want to make- clothes, props, scenes, etc. I just wish that I had my computer here. I am going through withdrawls having been seperated from Poser and Hexagon for about 2 weeks. I thank you in advance for all of the get wells, but I really want you all to stop for a minute and reflect on your own health. DO yourself the favor, and get checked out- being hospitalized is no fun, neither is an Angiogram. -Starkdog
