I'm getting ebots of new gallery postings fm artist I don't recognize and didn't have on favorite lists.  What have I missed?   If it is an error of mine with the new system, how do I disable them?

Well I would go to the Front Page and under member options in the sidebar go to My Homepage in the drop down menu...then scroll down to Favorite Artists and click on Manage  Favorite Artists...should be simple from that point.....or conversly at the Galleries Main Page and click my options..

Color me dumb if you have to,  but there is a link to my home page on side bar of this very page.  It responds "page not found"   I even left site, came back via www.renderosity.com instead of using "favorites" links I have saved to go directly to gallery of my choice, then tried to find my home page and still 'page not found' fm IE browser. 

Your simple solution to problem only presents a new problem for me.   help!

I think I read somewhere that what you're experiencing may have happened if you "subscribed" to a gallery or to a particular genre of the gallery...if that's right (??) maybe there's someplace you can "unsubscribe" ??

don't know that helps, but it sounds like a real pain!

skiwillgee...did you 'log out' then 'log in', not just leave and come back already logged in,...try clearing your cache as well

If you have subscribed to any galleries you will get an ebot every time an image is uploaded into that gallery. To check this go to MY OPTIONS  and then the My Gallery Subscriptions link and unsubscribe to any galleries that you don't want to see ebots on for every image upload. This doesn't affect your favorites, you will still get an ebot for any fav artist and image upload.

Stacey I have tried that and saved changes but it reverts back to being subscribed. So there is a problem unsubscribing to them once you do I too am getting flooded with ebots

lol I posted a message last night and its no longer there but here is the problem I was being overwelmed with e-mails from rendo annoucements of favs and of merchants  so I went and deleted all merchants and all fav's and would you believe I am still gettings them.....

I think they have it fixed now.  go to ur options link fm the gallery.  open it and find another link called subscriptions.  make sure all the galleries are unclicked and save the changes at the bottom of the page.  (by subscribing to a gallery u get an ebot with every upload)  there was a problem with not being able to unsubscribe but mine is working fine now.

Not only is the unsubscribed fixed (sorry about that guys!) but the eBots are less intrusive now if you ARE subscribed. They operate similar to thread replies in that you get an eBot the first time someone uploads a photo to that section, and then you get no more eBots for that section until you revisit the section, at which point your subscription is reset. Once again, sorry that the unsubscribes weren't working. Apparently they WOULD work until you unchecked the LAST one ... then it wouldn't save. But if you had unchecked all but one, it would have saved them properly. Now it works no matter which ones you have checked / unchecked . N

hahahaha. Thats funny Bobby. One of the front desk girls here actually answered the phone like that one day by accident. We were talking about hair color and then the phone rings, she says "Thank you for calling Blondware, can I help you"  Believe me, I was rolling on the floor laughing.

Sigh...fast as I am I'm never the first...LOL...a natural mistake in her case but how do you explain mine...I'm near bald and don't often think about hair, much less discuss colour...heh heh heh...was just tired I guess, as we have a Jazz Fest ongoing here and have been out rather late of late so am tired alla time...

Sorry I am late getting here and yes I just got a bunch more I normally just delete them from mail washer but if you need some when I check mail again I will forward them on to you.. There was at least 6 if not more that came through . I've check ever where I can think of to stop them to no avail.
