Outstanding, thanks. That t-map looks great as it follows the folds very well. looks as though it was un-wrapped before mapping or morphed after mapping?

sergemarck ( ) posted Fri, 13 April 2001 at 5:00 AM

Thank you all. Marque, I have some 18th century men's wears in project, but they are much more difficult to realize than the dresses and I don't master 3D sufficiently for the moment. Probably in second half of the year. Hard-Drive and Willf, it would take too a long time to explain. I will make soon a tutorial explaining the bases of the evening gowns with folds. In fact, each of my models is only a test for a new 3D technique which I try to learn. It could be as well trees or vehicles :) As for the mapping , it is the exact reflect of the method I employed. You can see with the templates that the sleeves were modelled in a traditional way whereas the dress is a modified planar mesh (if you do not know how work this method, you have an idea at http://www.chaosgroup.com/SimCloth.html) . This is the basis. After you prepare tons of coffee and you modify, modify and modify :) Serge

Serge...your aesthetic sense is almost dizzyingly good. What writers accomplished with eighteenth century fairy tales, you have accomplished in 3D -- the expression of heart-stopping beauty. Merci, merci!!!
