OK...HOW do I add content to bryce? I downloaded the freebie skies and terrains from Daz, and they are sitting in the wrong part of the folder in Bryce and won't open. I KNOW it is operator error...but WHAT is my error? Please help! ThanX so very much...yes I am a newbie.

There are 2 ways to load the presets into the Bryce libraries.

1: Launch Bryce open the library then use the import option at the bottom of the library.

2: Browse your hard drive and drop them into the appropriate libraries. ( Skies will go into the sky library folder , Objects in the object library folder , Materials into the Material folder ) some preset folders have many folders inside them, just pick one that best describes the object or mat

Dense? I'd love to! But only if you let me lead if it's a tango, or a waltz.😄 Now don't be getting too hard on yourself, we've all been there. HTH,  Dan

What kind of file is in what wrong part of what folder and won't open?

Usually DAZ programs come with an installer. It's an EXE file for Windows PC or a SIT file for Mac. You don't drop these files into a directory. You just double click on them and they install themselves.

When I downloaded Adamite's X-Ray mats I got a zip file that I first had to uncompress into a directory with winzip. I tried dropping all 5 mats into a  blank material folder I created called Xray. When I opened the material folder in Bryce there was only one of the black squares filled. Instead of five mats in five squares I had all five in the first square. I could only get the one on top to open.

I threw away the folder then created a blank Xray folder again. Instead of dropping the mats into the folder I used the import dialog inside Bryce that danamo shows above. This time I had five mats in five of the boxes and I could click on them all.

That's two answers I can think of. If this doesn't solve the problem please give a few more details and someone here can figure it out.

ROTFL, Ang that's bad :b_funny:

I thought it was going to be the common newb question of how do I close Bryce - most people find the menu system pop down by accident......

I Loaded the "Skies" manually into Bryce with no problem. It is the "Terrain Pak(s)"  I can't add...I tried doing them like the skies and that resulted in an error.  Also some "Object(s)" won't load either. I got the materials like metals and such to manually load..it seems the bigger stuff is the problem, very simuliar to some of the problems that electroglyph mentioned...but not altogether the same problem. Lastly I use P6...I don't use the converter thingy (*LOL!) that is part of the Daz bundle. I am sorry it took this long to respond..got the darn flu.

ThnX Ang!!!!

*LOL!!! YES! I also couldn't find the drop down! But I caught it by accident! While frantically clicking on everything in sight!

BTW! Did I mention these were Freebies from Daz, and some from here.

Have you tried file/import object from the bryce menu? then under the create menu you select "add".
