Subject: IMPORTANT! PLEASE READ

Over the next week, we will be moving over the newest version of galleries which has the new image resizing and options to make the gallery experience pleasant for everyone.

There are a couple things you should keep in mind. First, the new settings will be immediately applied to all new images upon upload. So every image uploaded after this point will be fine. Secondly, however, and most importantly, is the application of this policy to all images retroactively. We will begin running the conversion script immediately. However, it is going to take SEVERAL DAYS for this script to cover every image in the database. Because of this 1) we are running the script backwards to minimize inconvenience (newest images will be converted before older images) and 2) for a period of several days, you will notice your older images may appear broken. Please do NOT let this alarm you. As the script progresses, less and less images will appear broken, and they will be older and older images. When the script is finished, everything will be fine.

We appreciate your patience and support during this transition and we will keep you updated as things progress.

Sincerely,

Renderosity Admins

What about e-bots?  I'm still only getting mine intermittently.  Probably 50-60% of them or so I'd guess just by paging through the galleries and seeing what I've not gotten them for.  Is anything being done to figure out why they're not going out as they should be?

Yes, the ebots are a bit spotty for some members...afaik, this should clear up in a couple days..will ask again tho..might be some new info I havent gotten caught up with yet ;)

Edit: Ok, seems some peoples ebots are getting caught in spam filters...might want to check that, and also, some members have had to go turn the notifications back on...

StaceyG has posted more info in the CC Forum....

They say all the ebots are going out from this side...

I would check the two things I mentioned and then give it a couple of days ;)

i have a question...for example, I try to disable comments...and it is not working... can it be something with my server ? I click on the box to disable comments, it wont do anything... however, I asked a friend to upload an image for me and it worked..

Is there any setting I should know about ?

thanks

Are you using Firefox, Valentina? I'm having that problem too. It's okay in IE though. I've posted to the programmers about it.

Problem with comments not disabling is fixed (it was a browser issue.)

Thank you so much for the answer, Karen:-)

Right.  Groovy and all that but my images are still resized.  Does the software automatically assume I want them to be resized - I assure you I don't - and that I will have to set the option manually for each one?

Further to that, as an experiment, I tried editing my most recent picture's options to not resize.  Guess what?  It didn't work.

Not a particularly happy bunny, me.

Addendum - had to also change my gallery prefs to allow full size images.  A bit naughty, that, since most people - at least, those who commented on it - didn't like the resize image.

Oh well, at least it works.  Or rather, it works after I manually edit the images.  That's not particularly great and I imagine that for artists with lots of images it will be a real major pain in the arse.

Still not enormously happy about the implementation.  Hey, I'm old; I'm allowed to grumble.

Do the changes to the gallery also affect the free stuff pages? I've been looking at a black background with only partially visisble text all day. Check out the attached screen shot.

Free stuff's been working fine for me all day.  And it's working now for me as well.  Tried a different browser?

I actually was able to view it ok with Internet Explorer. I'm just puzzled as to why Safari won't display it properly and thought it couldn't hurt to ask.

Hi there,

Best bet is to ask in the Community Centre forum so the programmers can take a look.
