could be..Pakleds are not smart..;) now you've peaked my curiosity..
I save them as 'geeptut_momagnetsx' - where x is the number. Of course, I think I started saving them at work, and started again at home..sigh..now I'll just have to check to make sure.

PS-Mo' magnets, because I have the old Geep tut for magnets..done those many years ago..;)

Ok, I stuck 6 in one Directory, and 17 in another..so we're all 'on the same page'..and 1,327 in the overal Geep directory..;) but that's another story..;)

I save mine to a folder named Geep.  So far I've got Geep.01.gig to Geep.23.gif.   I've got a slew of other Geep tutorials downloaded and saved as pdf files in even anoter Geep folder, which is a subfoldre of my 'Poser Tutorials' folder.  When I finish downloading all the images, I'll assemble them into a new pdf file, which I'll save in my regular Geep folder in my Poser Tutorials library, and then delete my tempory Geep download folder.  It may sound complicated to some, but living in the ratehr convoluted Levant, it makes perfect sense to me.
I'm not quite sure yet how to treat Fazzel's addition information, maybe add it as an appendix.
Yours truly,

Fazzel's point is a good one and the graphics are excellent.

Note - The same thing can be accomplished by changing xRotate for the Base to 180 degrees which turns the magnet upside down and then increase yTran of the Magnet.  That will, also, pull the vertices inside the Zone in a downward direction as shown.

Apparently, I can't spell 'THEIR' correctly either.  As someone suggested in another thread, maybe I DO need to get my glasses checked.

"Idiot resistant" :-)) I like that phrase!

BTW, Naysayguy (NSG for short), is the exception that proves any rule.
(Another aside - did you know that in the phrase "the exception that proves the rule", the word "proves" in it is used in the sense of "to test", not in its more usually accepted modern sense of "to show that it is so"?)

Anyway, NSG can "prove" anything. And usually gets things right only when he makes two contradicting wrongs... (thus "proving" the rule that "2 wrongs don't make a right") :-)) - and proving it wrong...

Cheers,
Diolma

"Proving Ground' is a phrase that still harks back to the original meaning of the word Prove.  Somewhat halfway between the old meaning 'to test', and the newer meaning 'to confirm', is the folk saying: 'The Proof of the Pudding is in the Eating!'  This references the fact that the quality of the pudding is both tested and confirmed by being eaten.

I am still quite new to Poser so forgive me if this is a silly question but can you use magnets to create morphs for characters even if you don't have the head and body morph packages? And also though I am sure you will get to this in the tutorial, how do you do that? Thanks, and sorry about the dumb quesion.

this is kewl... I was just practicing with this...

Dr Geep... one thing, if I do this group selection on one group of selected polys on one shoulder...

then I do the same on the other shoulder....

Can I get one magnet to effect them (both of the selected poly groups on opposite shoulders) at the same time?

Hi Magnatude,

No, not with a magnet ... because a magnet is "attached" to a single object (prop or body part) therefore, two magnets would be required to affect 2 different body parts, i.e., right & left shoulders.

We will be looking at making morphs from magnets and then combining multiple morphs into a Full Body Morph (FBM) so that several body parts can be modified at the same time using a single parameter dial.

If I understand what you are trying to do, the FBM is probably your answer.

Good question ...  Stay tuned ... ;=]

P.S. Can you describe what you are trying to do?  I will try to incorporate it into this tut if I am able.

Ah... I was grouping a strip off of both shoulders of a jacket and attepting to use one magnet to extrude them outwards (like armor plates) and creating a morph out of that.
