Ta Sue!

Dragon Peak's prices are as follows:

Camp Sites: R80 per person per night (kids: 1/2 price)

Chalets: Anything from R158 per person per night to R280 per person per night (once again kids: 1/2 price)

Bed & Breakfast: R340 per person per night (and again kids: 1/2 price)

The sole purpose in life is serving humanity.

busi2ness ( ) posted Fri, 30 June 2006 at 4:54 AM

I'd also vote for chalet + facilities which can acommodate the bonfire for a braai (BBQ) and marshmellows. The chalets will make it easier on my wife and 11 kids.

Sue, I added to my list another bottle of mampoer for the morning after. Oooh boy, this weekend is not going to be for the faint hearted or sissies! :scared:

My thought exactly Piet!  If you can't handle the heat, stay out of the kitchen!  That's what I always say grin

Sue, no reply about prices yet?  I think we should narrow it down to 2 or 3 places and take a vote on it (Urban's idea)

He'll bring me the info on Monday. It has both chalets and camping and is near Mont Aux Sources

LOL  Urban, are you a man or a mouse?  Just checking!  Vera just told me all about Dragon Peak.  She says it's awesome there!  She's been there before.  Let's see if she can tell us some in the forum about the place...

busi2ness ( ) posted Fri, 30 June 2006 at 5:56 AM

@Urban: Don't worry, it seems we will need the Mampoer for the Paintball shoot, I can hardly wait  for the poet in our midst (no names!) bringing the Anglo-Boer war in rememberance! Mampoer should be taken in moderation, one mug at a time.

It seems you people are doing a great job urban, Vera, Sue and Zel (sorry if I left out somebody) making a short list on possible venues. I don't unfortunately have the time to follow every one of the links to gorgeous sites mentioned above but will look at suggestions.

The spirit in here is awesome! :thumbupboth:

okay so here is the bergers (snigger) experience. We stayed at Dragon Peaks and it is awesome we stayed in a 2 person chalet - kitchen adn warm (oh so warm) bathroom. All for R160 PPPN. It was fantastic, you can go onto the helicopter training base (photo op) and there is paintball (photo op) and the river adventure ppl are up the road and the quad trails are up the road (phot ops) and Monk's Cowl you can do an 11 hour hike to the peak is 20min drive or one hour cycle down the road. Ja Ja I cycle so damn slow!!! there's horse riding (photo op)

If I was going to vote it would be my place - there is a shoppie - marshmellows and wood and brickette adn lighters and meat and bread and milk and sweets (drools).  And the place is so well run and so clean! There is a fire pit in the middle of the dam and lots of individual braai areas.

See:

Dragon Peaks and for pics of the area ... I shot all of these in the resort or the area around...

Hey Wayne, I have done some modeling in my time when at the farm school, when a tractor had to be photographed, and.......... ahhh, foget it!

I am just not taking my shoes off!

Some real cool scenes Vera, now I am getting confused, too many options, can we have 3 weekend camps in a row? 😕 This one guy even looked familiar:

Now thanks lot for killing my weekend, I would be wondering what on earth is going on with the camp when I'm watching the football match !!! 😠

Anyways, out of blue, do you think we should try asking some establishment to sponsor us for a worldwide meet? We could make a quick buck to party. What do the founders of R'osity say?

have a blast ,

note: vera i'm very pissed with you, you didnt invite me to the camp!!! :scared:

Ok, problem.  Dragon's Peak is fully book except for Park Homes that is still available, Paddock House that is a 9 sleeper chalet - costs: R280 p.p.p.n. (children 1/2 price) and then in the caravan park there's still some space open.
