Subject: SOUTH AFRICAN CITIZENS Listen up!

Zeldie ( ) posted Mon, 03 July 2006 at 2:23 AM

Ok, what I have done is the following:

I booked 5 chalets at Dragon's Peak in my name.  The costs are R280 per person per night (kids 1/2 price).  Their phone number is 036 468 1031.  You can phone them, tell them your booking is under the booking of Mrs. Van Rensburg.  The know we're a group of photographers that are visiting them for the weekend.

I will communicate their banking details through to you during the day.  Phone them, make your own booking for whichever chalet you want to stay in, and pay your deposit.  I think it will be the best way for us to do it that way.

The weekend is for the 29th of September until the 1st of October 2006.  I hope everyone can make it!

i can only do R160 most... R280 is gonna kill me - unless one of our international friends wants to sponsor me...

Zeldie ( ) posted Mon, 03 July 2006 at 2:32 AM

I was wondering...  Who wants to share a chalet?  Seeing as it's only myself, hubby and the little one that's going, I honestly don't want a whole chalet for myself...

I'm also checking about the camping area. I might have another family joining me for camping.

loftie ( ) posted Mon, 03 July 2006 at 3:04 AM

It sounds great...

I will be going alone ... so I wouldn't mind sharing with someone ... I won't need a whole chalet to myself ...

PS. I don't snore

Thanx Tienie

Zeldie ( ) posted Mon, 03 July 2006 at 3:22 AM

Tienie, I'm booking for you as we speak.  I'll give you a ring just now.

Zeldie ( ) posted Mon, 03 July 2006 at 3:28 AM

There!  Me, Uncle Piet and Loftie, we'll be sharing Paddock House.  The costs are R280 per person per night.  I'll communicate Dragon's Peak bank account details through to you just now.

urbanarmitage ( ) posted Mon, 03 July 2006 at 3:37 AM

Mornin' all.

How big are the chalets again Zel? 6-sleepers? If so then my wife and I obviously won't need one to ourselves either. Maybe some of the other guys joining us would like to share a chalet with us?

Zeldie ( ) posted Mon, 03 July 2006 at 3:55 AM

Ok, hang on.  I just got off the phone with Dragon's Peak and we've made another plan.  The big chalets are not close to each other, so instead I rented two cottages next to each other.  Three bedrooms each.  So, Oom Piet, yourself and Urban and loftie will share.  I'm taking a friend with, so we'll need a 3 bedroom for my gang that's coming with.  Does that suit you?  The prices (R280 p.p.p.n. stays the same)

Thanx Again Zelda ... I'm looking forward to the weekend ... I will be paying in A.S.A.P.

Zeldie ( ) posted Mon, 03 July 2006 at 4:12 AM

Right!  It seems as if we've got it settled now.  We'll arrange the food supplies and stuffies nearer to the weekend.  Thanx for everyone's help - specially you Sue!

Now to work on a list of items that people need to take.

It makes it so much simpler if you have a 't.t.b.' list (things to bring). I will email you the hiking list I have Zeldie and you can add to it at will, then I will load it to my website for others to use as well..

Well.... it sure seems like you all are planning for some fun times!! I am certain you could use a Swedish chaperone - (unless of course, Andreas has coerced someone into letting him bunk in...) Ok...if you don't need another swede for the trip... how about someone to sing around the campfire?? I'll bring my harmonica!! Please?? And besides, I am a hearty Minnesotan so the cold night air won't bother me! In fact, I could do with a little snow to leap into after the sauna! Nooo?? OK... then, I promise NOT to look for silly constellations like... Ursa Major or Minor or even mention the star called Polaris. You said you're meeting in the spring but I also would NOT bring my maple syrup gathering bucket... lol Alright, FIne. I guess I'll wait until someone rallies for a meeting in Chicago or something. "sigh" Kidding! I better quit this message before I am fed to the lions I read about earlier... lol Have fun when you go - And yes, take the cameras. Jodie :0)

I kid-proofed my house but they STILL get in!!

Zeldie ( ) posted Mon, 03 July 2006 at 11:55 PM

LOL @ Jodie.  You and Andreas are both welcome to join in.  We can ALWAYS make space for two more people :0))
