By mid-month, we are also going to announce an entirely new type of content product as well that complements our model sets - thats all Im going to say right now though :-)

Dumb question... Why is it called Haunted Village Vol. 2?  There does not seem to be a volume 1.

jefsview ( ) posted Sun, 09 July 2006 at 12:52 PM

In another thread,  chikako mentioned that  since they are releasing several themed sets (faerie and Haunted Village), that they didn't want to release 2 churches, blacksmiths, etc, simultaneously. So Haunted Village Vol 1 will follow Volume 2 :)

I just bought HV Doctor's Office and Carriage House. I like them, except that they are mapped as a single prop, so it'll be hard to pose the interior, since you can't make the walls invisible for a wide/long camera shot. Otherwise, it's very detailed and realistic.

This is getting really hard to temporarily resist. I really really want this set and Fairy, but I'm trying to hold out until I can buy the whole group set to get the bonus.

IIRC, you can buy the whole volume 2 set at their site for $40 (sort of a pre-order) and you'll still get the models that come out afterward as soon they're released.

Yes, this is true. We release the models as we finish them. The models get added to the master archive of the Volume (this one into Haunted Village Volume 2) as soon as they are released. The Complete sets are the best deal - its the only way to get the bonus eighth model.

Not to worry, Volume 1 will follow :-)

So when is this one available on Renderosity?

Meshbox ( ) posted Mon, 24 July 2006 at 2:40 PM

It is already available - sorry, I thought I announced it already.

We've been a bit quiet recently because we decided to spend extra time on the next haunted village model, plus we have a major announcement coming up for SIGGRAPH.

I love how these look, and bought Carriage and Doctor's, but because of the lack of UV mapping I'm going to have to hold off on buying any more. It's nice that you spend the time making interiors for them, but -- what's the point when you can't make the walls invisible to get a decent camera angle?

I'm talking about the Poser sets, not certain if it's any better in the other formats.

I hate being torn about purchases. Love the modelling, hate the mapping.

Will always take a look at future models, but I'm leary about spending more money on limited options.

Best,

Jeff
