After seeing the movie, I was told by a friend that after the credits there's another bit of the movie. I didn't know that so I'd left during the credits. Could someone who's seen it IM me and tell me what I missed at the end? Pretty please!

There is always a bit of a movie after the credits.  At the end of the first one you see the monkey with a coin in his hand.   It's a lead into the second film. And I assume the one at the end of movie 2 is a lead into the last film.

I'm one of the geeks that likes to read the credits,  LOL

They filmed movie 2 and 3 together.  I think they are just wrapping up movie 3 and it will be out next year.  Depp's inspiration for Captain Jack Sparrow appears as his father in movie 3.

While the Wiki version is technically correct, it truly loses something in the translation. The actual scene starts with the cannibal painted like a skeleton dancing his dance, the others are dancing and beating the drums as we pan past them to reveal the dog sitting proudly on the throne with the King Hat on his head and a huge bone in his mouth. It is drop dead funny because you have been away from that location for so long and the memory of Jack's looming fate when he sat there comes flooding back to contrast with the regal posture of the dog blissfully unaware of his future.

I didn't know there was something at the end of the first one. I'll look for it on our DVD this weekend. Some movies leave you suspecting that something might be there (a lot of the Pixar ones for example) but I didn't even consider it on these ones. Now I know. They're shooting for the third one starting in August. There's apparantly more to shoot. Kieth Richards was confirmed for a cameo as Captain Jack's Dad in the third one (he couldn't make it earlier because of commitments to the Stones).

Things I didn't miss:

The running gag with Jack's hat(s).

The animators' painstaking attention to detail, such as the way Jones' face tentacles wrap themselves around his hat brim to hold it in place against the rushing water when the Dutchman submerges.

Pay careful attention when the crew first visits voodoo queen Tia Dalma, particularly when Jack is "borrowing" some of her jewelry.  She and Davy Jones appear to have matching silver lockets.

Depp tells the New York Daily News, "Now that would be interesting. "To go back and play the same character that I played 20 years ago with a bunch of people talking behind his back, going, 'He's out of his mind. He's really old now. But he thinks that he's really young.' That I would love to do."

Yes I used to watch it.  But I didn't really like Johnny Depp back then.  I much preferred Richard Grieco (see image).  I also tried my hand at drawing him.  This is an image I did years ago and was scanned with my old scanner.  Not sure why it came out looking "aged".

I'm surprised to hear that Depp would be interested in revisiting the role. He hated that show and what it "did to him".  And he did everything he could to sabotage it so that he would be released from his contract.

It's a bit depressing how many look-alike Poser characters I don't recognise. But, watching Johnny Depp performing, while his general face shape doesn't change, he's much more the character than the actor. A few years ago, there was a season of Johnny Depp movies on one the the British TV channels, and the trailers presented him as if he were a silent movie actor. And the idea worked.

Thanks :) I debated about posting it,  LOL but then figured oh what the heck!   I have a horrid time with faces though.  They come out cartoonish.  It's the eyes.    I have some other drawings that I've considered putting in my gallery, but when I see some of the stuff in the galleries for 2D art, I feel so inadequate.  I never really worked on developing my drawing, so it's still quite "newbie"

What I'd really like to do is be able to draw in a graphic program, but I can't get the hang of tablets. It just seems too weird to draw with my right hand while looking straight ahead at my computer screen.  I lack the hand-eye co-ordination for that.  I need to see what I'm drawing appear beneath my hand. Unfortunately the computers out there that allow that are way out of my league in pricing.

Here is or was to be a tribute to Marilyn Monroe, unfortunately it's unfinished because I can't get the face right.

I'd love to have seen that!  He grew on me as he aged and matured.  I'm a huge fan of his now.  Same with Brad Pitt.  I really didn't like him at one time, but now... hubba hubba!  It must have been "Troy" and that gosh darn sexy costume he was dressed in, hehe

And you've been meaning to cut down on the drinking for a while anyway so this will help add incentive to to get the help you so desperately need. Less kidneys, less liquor, more coolness. It's a win- win scenario.
