Subject: CSS code for the white free stuff section???

Lyne ( ) posted Wed, 12 July 2006 at 9:02 PM · edited Tue, 19 November 2024 at 11:05 PM

Which code (the forum code or the gallery code?) are we supposed to use and where do we put it to get the free stuff section fixed? Got to get it away from being blinding white as soon as possible.

Thank you

As far as I can see, the freestuff section is still in the old format, so no CSS.

Thats correct the .ez side is all the default colors and at this time they cannot be changed.

I'm confused the old format we could make changes...  Other programmers going to work on this part?

You could previously change your colors in the old programming language (.ez) in your profile but the profiles have now moved over to the PHP side.  There is no profile over on the old side where the freestuff, tutorials, etc still are. They will be moving over to the PHP side soon. The entire site will all be over here when the conversion is finished. But the CSS stylesheet options are only for the forums and galleries as we decided to add those options after they converted over here to PHP . The freestuff, tutorials, the Marketplace, etc will be in the default colors and there will be no options to change colors in those areas.

Guess I won't be going to those sections then....just way too much WHITE!!!! I had just popped into free stuff before reading this thread and was surprised with the white and it just about killed my eyes. Had to close the browser real fast but it was still about half an hour before I could see anything. Thanks.

Ah man stacey, you can't seriously expect us too try and shop with that glaring white in our eyeballs!

The Marketplace has had the default colors since January so its been like this for a while. I think it will be easier to move through the Store, Freestuff and Tutorials with the default colors than it was for the Forums and galleries?? maybe?

As my 6year old is fond of asking "why?"

Yeah it does. The glaring white keeps me out of there, so now, I check the forums, maybe the gallery, and then go elsewhere that doesn't have that glaring white background, which, thank you very much, gives me a headache.

Well then...could the community VOTE for a background color to replace the white?  That would be neat...

Also, I was just looking at the newsletter, and it's soft blue which is so nice...(goes with the gorgeous logo so well too!) and I was WISHING the pages could be as pretty as the newsletter and as classy looking.... just an idea...

I shop in the store, fast...kinda do my business and get out, and as I told Karen, I MISS the articles on the Front Page because I can't wait to log in and leave there... I am sure the programmers do care about this issue... so many folks have vision problems....

Thanks for passing on the thoughts and concerns... :)

Why can't we just have a way to pick colors like we had on the old forum. Sure make things sooooooo much more easy because most of us don't know how to edit the code to change things around they way you have it setup now.

Perhaps you should change the default colors then. Otherwise, you can expect those that do go to the trouble of checking the store, freestuff and tutorials, to do so wearing sunglasses.Who the heck picked these blinding lame default colors anyway?

I agree that the blinding white has got to go. It also gives me a headache browsing the areas with the flat white background, and for an art site to feature such a harsh contrast to the viewable content is ridiculous in my opinion. With no options to change the default colors on all areas of the site via CSS, it only ensures the site will not have a global stylization for those who favor customization. And let's face it, who does favor hard coding anything which ultimately dulls one's perception. It doesn't make much sense to only offer options for two sections of the site and leave the rest at default...I'm just not seeing the logic in this decision whatsoever.
