the "treasure hunt" is part of the Joy in Poser!! that's what keeps my active with the program filling up numorus cd's with content that I may never use but having the comfort that if I ever need a three sided widget I have one somewhere on cd

You have a three sided widget? dang! I needs me one of them! :lol:    There is so much stuff out there, you can fill up a 120 Gb disk fast.  I've had one for 7 months and it's already full.  Time to upgrade again. T__T LOL

For my fellow treasure hunters (or anyone else who can tell me)...should I collect the P5 Material freebies I come across?  Since I am using P6...do the P5 Materials work the same as "P6" Materials?

I grab em just to have. They work just fine ni Poser 6. I can't say whthere or nott hey look the same as they did in Poser 5 though.

P5 stuff works just fine in P6. I've never had a problem myself.

And the best reason for collectholics, grab the freebies while they are there, you never know if you need them but you also don't know, how long the are available ;)

AND always back them up!  I failed to back up Batlab's Battlefield Armor freebie for Aiko and when I had a hard-drive crash, lost the whole runtime!

In rebuilding, I asked him if I could still get it, and he told me to get lost. :(

Most of my my runtime is freebies.  I can barely afford clothes for myself, much less people that really exsist! :lol:

1. Load Judy and go to the Face Room.
2. Click Spawn Morph Target. That's right, you aren't "doing" anything. It's the default Face Room head.
3. Go back to the Pose Room and select the head.
4. At the bottom of the Morphs list on the Parameters palette, set the Head morph to 1.0. This applies the FR morph (and makes the eyes pop out).
5. Select each eye and set the Eye morph to 1.0 to relocate the eyes to their new location.

Personally, I don't find Judy at all "ugly." However, unlike Jessi, she does not have the FR settings defaulted to her. (In other words, if you do this with Jessi, nothing happens.) CL meant to have a true "Unimesh" head in the Face Room, an androgynous baseline you could change at will. eF has apparently shifted to a different approach, where there is a masculine and a feminine baseline. Either approach can be justified; it's just a matter of levels of generalization. However, using P5 figures in the FR gives you some interesting extra options. For example, you can bring Don into the FR, and give him the default face with a single click. Or you can apply the "Don" settings to the default face, and then work with Don's head to create a cusom model. And if you like, you can apply the Judy dial to his face and feminize it a bit. Or put a bit of Ben's youth into it....

One thing you can't do, as near as I can tell: You can't modify the P5 head and then lay FR changes onto that. Well, you can, but your Pose Room modifications don't come with you to the Face Room. The FR is unique in that you are NOT actually working on your model in there; you are working on a free head mesh that you can them apply to your model. It's a bit like having a modeller plug-in.

PS: The picture isn't meant to be a great work of art, by the way. I'm trying to create a wrap-around terry towel, and less than halfway there. The point is to show you the secret bonus person hidden in your P5 Face Room.

btw-- KILLER towel, man!  Wonderful towel material!  She isn't half bad ,either. :D

A few years ago, someone suggested a way to "move" the Face Room dials to the Pose Room.  I think it was by setting one FR dial to 1.0, Spawning the Morph, going to the PR and naming it, then going back to the FR, zeroing out that one and doing it to the next one. I haven't tried this yet, but if it works, and somebody feels like making salable product out of the result, I'm ready to buy. One reason the FR is so frustrating is that it is precious hard to use once you have begun manipulating the face in the Pose Room.

This trick would work much better in P6, BTW, because Jessi and James are already using the base mesh the FR dials apply to. With the P5 characters, the results would be a little quirky.
