Subject: Poser Not Finding Texture Files

macmullin ( ) posted Sun, 15 April 2001 at 10:45 AM ยท edited Tue, 26 November 2024 at 11:09 AM

I am of just late having my characters failing to find or load old or new texture files. The first problem being an error window comes up telling me that Poser (4) cannot find the texture file and if I would like to find the file, but Poser fails to bring up my directory widow. I just get a flash of white where the directory window was to be drawn - then it continues on to the next error window. Second - My characters will not load up an alternative texture from another texture directory the directory window appears and I load the texture but will not add it to the map list. I am stuck with the default texture. I have been working on some figures for over a month now and this is very discouraging. :-/(sigh) My Question is this a window/poser system file that can be replaced or is this a common poser glitch or is there any methods so I can avoid this unhappy occurrence.

Do you have the patched version of Poser (4.03) ?? I believe it solves some strange issues in loading files. The patch is available to the curioslabs website. http://www.curiouslabs.com/downloads/index.html I hope this helps, Sam

Thanks for the tip but I all ready have the 4.3 version installed. I have found the problem I do believe. I have been creating my textures in PhotoShop and have been using and saving the alpha channels (make-up areas, eyebrows, etc.), as I have been working. I had not taken them out before saving to tif (since it will flatten with the channels in place)- as soon as I removed all the saved alpha channels, Poser was then happy again and loaded up my textures. It took all day to figure out this little inconvenace. Thanks Sam for your help and reply.
