I searched the forums for something similar and found nothing in the last year or so that looked pertinent...apologies if this was covered already and I missed it. :)

My question is this.  What's a good way to keep track of all the poses one has available, just for character posing, not textures, hair, etc.?  I've got a few pose packs, notably a Body Language, a few from Lory and some freebie ones, not to mention some characters come with 6-10 or 15 even.  I've no idea what I've got, where I've got it, and not only is it tough to go searching for a pose if I have a general idea of what I want, but if I know what I want, finding just that one is hard too.

So...if somebody has a system they use that they wouldn't mind sharing, I'd love to hear it. :)

I have mine set up in sub folders:

Pose,

Positional poses,

 M3 poses,

V3 poses,

V3+M3 poses,

A3 poses etc.

In folders is or multiple runtimes is best.  If you want to track more than that then check out the Poser Download Tracker.

I've set up my posedirectory as follows:
materials characters, with subdirectories for V2, V3 etc.
materials creatures
materials clothing, again with subdirectories
materials hair
materials architecture
materials environment
materials various, for all the other stuff with materialsettings
poses:
subdirectries for V2, V3 etc.
subdirectory creature poses
subdirectory props poses

This covers 99% of all things (at least for me) and what doesn't fit in one af these directories, well just remember where you've put it. This set up requires that you manually put the right files in the right directory and that takes some time but it will save you a lot of time when you're searching for that one particular posefile.

So if I'm understanding what's been suggested so far, you move your poses from the default directory they install in to ones of your own making?  So if you had 3 Ilona Body Language Packs you'd put them all together instead?

I move mine from where they are intitially installed, as well. I have a Generation 3 folder, with subfolders for Male, Female, Child and Combination. Within those subfolders, I divide into Standing, Reclining, Sitting (squatting and kneeling) and Other.

I keep the critters in their own Runtime

Note: Before I relocate the poses, I use a renaming utility to indicate collection name and or vendor.

I have them via character (M2, V3, Apollo, etc) then, within those folders, I have subfolders:

Standing, sitting, action, etc. 

Tis works well - especially since the Mil characters can share poses.

You don't move them from the pose folder as such, you just make sub-folders within the pose folder!
