Subject: A question about the free Vue2 magazine offer

Tammy ( ) posted Mon, 16 April 2001 at 6:30 PM · edited Tue, 26 November 2024 at 11:42 AM

Is there a way to get ahold of a copy of either of these Magazines in the US besides calling the magazine overseas? I have called every local Magazine agent and none of them have either magazine or can order it in. If I like it well enough I would definately eventually (soon as I can afford it) upgrade to version 3.

Also I tried emailing both magazines and didnt get a reply.

Hi Tammy, have you tried Barnes and Noble Bookstore? There was another major book store which carries those mags, but I can't remember right now what it is. But I know Barnes and Noble should carry them. I hope this helps

The other book store is Borders. The March issue of Computer Arts Magazine had Vue 2, but you probably can't get that one. On the bright side, I believe the April issue of 3D World has Vue 2 and that should be available. Rich

Howdy. Hastings also carries the magazines, but they are always a month behind. I had to wait until the first of this month to get my copy of Vue. Must say it was worth the wait.

Im having no Luck at all, borders and barnes and nobles dont have magazines online. The nearest one of these is a 60 mile drive also and then I would either have to chance it or call ahead. Is Hastings a book web site or a chain type book store? I live in a very rural area most of our businesses are locally owned and not national chains.

Hmmm...I'm sorry to hear about your troubles Tammy. It makes it a real shame that it's not a magazine that's easy to find. Luckily I have a Border's bookstore near where I work. I'm thinking if you really want it you may have to take the drive. If you subscribe to the mag you will never get it in time for that issue. Hope you can find it closer to home :). Laurie

Books-A-Million also has it. The Computer Arts Mag was only put on display two weeks ago. I had thought I missed it since our local store usually carries one or two copies. But I picked up a copy, but have not had time to play with it. Easter took up most of my weekend. --Randy

Hastings does have an online presense, but they do not have the magazines online. However, Future Publishing (the company that publishes Computer Arts) does have a website. They accept orders for back issues. I believe they are 8 pounds for foreign orders. I checked after I bought my copy at Hastings ($13.99) and I could've saved a coupla bucks by ordering direct from Future. http://www.futurenet.co.uk/futureonline/ http://www.computerarts.co.uk/
