Ok, for those who are interested in armor for the Poser 4 female, I thought I would do a little comparison. I compared 3 different armors, all of which are conforming to the P4 female figure (sorry Vicki!). The 3 I reviewed are: Morphing Man's Battle Princess Armor (bbay.com) Yoroi's Armor PhilC's armor (Philc.net) And the Winner is.... Morphing Man's Battle Princess Armor!!! Woohoo! Detailed report: 1st Place - Morphing Man's armor at BBay (www.bbay.com) I choose his as the best because it's very extremely well done, and can be used for commercial renders. It has alot of detail (trim, studs, etc.) most of which come with morphs to turn it on or off or modify it in someway. This is extremely important because sometimes you don't want the trim... but it's nice to have when you DO want it. In addition, it comes in pieces which can be mixed and matched! I also give Morphing Man full kudos for texture maps. The maps that come with it are well done... but the map pack is EXCEPTIONAL! The textures are wonderful! 2nd - Yoroi Armor avilable at Poser Factory (http://www.lvn.co.jp/poser/DLCloth.htm). This is wonderfully done armor which is not only highly detailed... but also the only armor reviewed that is FREE! It is richly detailed, much like Morphing Man's armor, but without the extra morphs to turn certain features on or off. Also like the Battle Princess, it too comes in pieces for maximum flexibility. In addition, it has a free texture available which is well done. 3rd - PhilC's armor (www.philc.net) While I rank this as third, this is also the ONLY armor which is full plate mail. So if you are going for the full plate mail look, it's hard to beat. The texture that comes with it is fine, but could definately be improved. Unfortunately, there is not alot of detail on this armor. There is no trim, no designs and very few morphs at all. But, despite it's lack of detail, it conforms well and has alot of possibilities... especially if remapped! Well... there it is... my review of the best of the conforming armor bunch! Regardless of which one of the above armors you choose, you can't really go wrong. So good luck!

Just wanted to specify a few things in regards to the armor reviewed above: Morphing Man's Armor - Morphing man has several additional pieces which are not shown in the picture. In addition, you can mix and match from his 3 female armor sets (Battle Princess, Valkyrie & Freya armors). Yoroi Armor - Just a reminder that this is a free armor. As such, you do not get the support that you would normally get with a commercial product like Morphing Man's or PhilC's. In addition, like the armor, the textures available for personal use only. You MUST contact the authors for permission before doing any type of commercial render. PhilC's Armor - The PhilC armor package also comes with several accessories including a shield, sword, scabbard, etc. While I ONLY reviewed the armor, it should definately be noted that the accessories come with his package. In addition, his armor comes with an easy to use texture that can be customized to add trim, etc. Also, it does match his other armors available for the P4 Male and the P4 horse. So to summarize, no matter which of the armors featured above you choose, YOU are the winner. Which you choose really depends upon your needs and your personal preference. Good rendering all!

Here are actual rendered pictures of all three. To the left you see the female cleric in Yoroi's armor with custom texture maps. Beside her you see PhilC's MALE armor with custom texture maps and bump maps. To the right you see Morphing Man's armor with custom textures and the breast trim disabled. hopefully this allows everyone to see them as they might appear in your own render!

It would be nice if any of them actually looked a little bit like armor...

Thank you for the review, I have been needing a set for my personal artwork and cant afford to buy one right now and I didnt know there was such a great freebie set out there so this information was really helpful, the other 2 look fantastic as well and one day hope to purchase a set for my commercial use but its nice to have one to play with for personal use in the meantime.

Actually its not yet.......but when I look at the other three I see that I have alot to learn.....and it would probably help to have 3d studio max too.........oh yeah and know how to use that!...... 8^)

DogFace et al: If you want armor that can look as "realistic" as possible, ISO's Yoroi Orleans armor is it. Rendered with Stixx's textures, it looks incredible, and looks like well, real armor. High gloss, great detail, and ISO will answer any questions, but I don't know why you would need support...follow the well-written instructions for installation and use, and even I could figure it out. BTW, ISO's works very well with WyrmMaster's magnet morphs for the chest (wink, wink, nudge nudge) if you like a more Fantastic shape to your female Knight I haven't shelled out cash for armor, 'cause I ran across this first. Phil's, Morphing Man's and yes, Deal's look great, and there are a few others out there that are free or easy :) I've modded some breast plates and helms that were 3Ds, DXF or obj files, but don't have permission to share them in anything other than a render--too many of them don't come with readme's so you can't always figure out where ya got 'em later. Something for FreeStuff or commercial file publishers to remember. GrayMare.
