More experimenting on this dismal day ... I did a slight Hue/Saturatioin adjustment on this.

Very nice picture... what's the weather like there at the moment? This looks pretty cold, unless that's the adjustments?!?

Thanks! It's cold (in the 40's F) and rainy with clouds and yuk. The adjustments brought out the yellow of the stamens (?) of the flowers. :)

They're mildly fragrant. The bees like them. :) I got a few photos on Sunday trying to capture the bees going in and out of the flowers. The darn things move so quickly that I wasn't able to get a clear shot. This cherry tree has a story. It's actually a miniature weeping cherry tree. On the day my son died, my family and I were outside the hospital for a cig break and were discussing Jeff's brain death and how we had to let him go. I kept hearing in my head "He is such a strong spirit". The blossoms off the miniature cherry trees in the hospital courtyard were blowing like snowflakes all around us in the breeze. It was very surreal and like it was happening in slow motion. A group of internet friends wanted to give us a tree to plant in Jeff's memory. Something like an oak tree, however my yard is too tiny for such a majestic tree. At the advice of another friend who shared my story with them about the hosptial cherry trees, they sent us a white flowering minature weeping cherry tree. :)This is the first that I've seen it bloom. The more I get to know you people, the less my problems mean. Lisa, I hope this tree only brings you joy - that each petal that is blown by away the wind takes away a tear and each fruit it may bring forth bears a happy memory.
