I've done this before, I'm sure I have, but I just can't remember HOW!

I want to change image 1 - which is what I actually have in the DTE - into either image 2 or image 3 - how do I do that?

Aw pak!  I saw the reply and I thought you knew!

Um... actually once I get a reply to this I've got another DTE question... think I'll go create a new thread for it.... (rushes off, stage left)

Oh and it's "D=Delightfully T=Tortuous and E=Enjoyable" ...ac- tually!

Lol!

I may be wrong on this and I dont have Bryce loaded on the machine Im on right now to try, but I think it may be able as simple as dragging and dropping, seems to me I remember doing that at one point. Give it a try, if not no harm done.

FranOnTheEdge ( ) posted Fri, 04 August 2006 at 11:09 AM

Er, no.  Dragging and dropping just gives you the same texture in another component window.  I want to change the orientation of this texture in this component window.

Try changing the Filter:
From X(aSlope+b) to X(aAltitude+b), or vice versa.
Or to one of those if it is set to something else.
X(a*Orientation+b) could maybe work too.

Friends don't let friends use booleans.

Hah!  that did it, thanks.  Took a while to check it, as an experiment was rendering.

Doesn't this do it?

Component1

Noise button (top left)
edit noise (top left green light on the noise panel)
XY direction slider.

However, the result may also be affected by the YZ direction, number of octaves and 1, 2 and 3D, AFAIK

No I'm afraid not, but don't worry about it, if you look up the thread you'll see that dvlenk6, already answered it for me.
