Can someone please tell me how to make a space background in Bryce 4, then export it to another program? Thanks in advance.

Several ways, depends on what you want to do. You can go to my sun tutoral at www.annsartgallery.com/eric.html and play with that, then save it as a bitmap and use it in your other program (Bryce won't export objects in any format other than what Bryce recognizes). Or, if you can work with 2d like I suggested above, go play with some galactic backround programs like Starbits and Universe. http://www.diardsoftware.com/ for Universe Don't have a url for starbits. Got them off of www.zdnet.com doing a 3d search. Good luck.

Try rendering a standard bryce starfield at very high res. In a new scene file, create a sphere, make it the size of Bryce's local universe (ie- as large as you can make it), and hit the "m" for materials lab. Hit the triangle thingie for "2d texture" and import the star field you've just rendered. Set it to neither "cast, recieve, or selfshadow". Use the images own alpha transparency (BW value), and play around with diff, ambience etc. I'll also sometimes duplicate the star sphere and make the new one just a point or two smaller and apply a cloud texture to it for that galactic/hubble look. Mitch a variation of this technique is in tomorrows episode of The Starry Ones
