Subject: Where is Member Listing?

Rachel_R ( ) posted Thu, 10 August 2006 at 10:24 PM · edited Fri, 22 November 2024 at 7:48 AM

There used to be a link on the side called "Members".  It was a list of all the members here.  Can someone please tell me where it is now?

Thanks!

they deleted it. I didn't mind if my info was available (name, location, et al.) but I tend to agree with their reasons.

but found out you can still FIND a member by doing a search in the galleries and there is a field for member... I have used that a lot lately.

Life Requires Assembly and we all know how THAT goes!

One function that the member list served was placing people in contact with each other.  Say for instance, someone in the community stumbles upon mention of a certain item that is needed in a render, yet that item can't be found, and there are no viable alternatives.  The member list provided a means of contact, the most recent login date to determine if a PM might be effective for that member, and more.  Removing it only makes contact harder to achieve.

they may re-enable the directory - it's well within their capability. perhaps they could run a poll to see how many members want it back. members already have the means to prevent their data from appearing in the directory, hence it should be an easy thing to do.

And which data columns to include or exclude.
