Vue F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2024 Nov 29 1:34 pm)
There is a solution to this problem in the Backroom, under the 'Water' section.
The current link doesn't work - it points to an image that has been moved since.
Until I fix the link there, here is the solution:
That's right.... I forgot this image should be obsolete now that the function edition is there.
I will have to make a new screenshot when I update the link
@Agiel: Don't delete the original screenshot!
"That's right.... I forgot this image should be obsolete now that the function edition is there."
Many out there won't have the latest versions of Vue:-))
If possible, include both solutions in the new screenshot (appropriately titled).
Also:
Would it not be sensible to include a new sticky, asking members to include details of exactly which version of Vue they're using when they ask question like this? It's only a suggestion, but the more info one has, the easier it is to formulate a directed reply...
And thx to all who did reply to this thread. I've learned something.. (I have V5I - not that that's relevant to my post) :-))
Cheers,
Diolma
Yes - delete the "water wave" node in the "Bumps" section in Vue 5 function editor. Click here for support article.
What part did the "Water Wave" node play in creating the shader?

oh that good old line... I found how to delete it in my vue 5i - it got me into the scary new function editor! :) Just wish I was better at water....I know some of how water looks for me is ME and my inability to bring all the parts (ground under it, lighting etc.) in line to look like Davy's water (!)....but too wish vue had better water mats....(and yes, the vue 6 wild seas mat looks amazing)...but my wish is for calm stream and pond water.... besides the old green stuff with water plants floating on it...
hmmmm can one delete those plants and have just that water left??
Life Requires Assembly and we all know how THAT goes!

I've noticed some strange lines in the water plane - see attached image - lines circled in red. can anyone offer an explanation?
Why are they there?
How do I get rid of them?
It's the default water plane under on of the bundled atmospheres, rendered on "Final". I've seen them before in similar renders.
Thanks
Richard
