Subject: OT: Have your recent RMP purchases been slow to download?

jhustead ( ) posted Tue, 15 August 2006 at 3:20 PM · edited Fri, 29 November 2024 at 9:39 AM

I've recently purchased some new things from the RMP but when I went to download the individual products they have been at excruciatingly slow download speeds. For one particular product that was a 24MB zip file it downloaded on average at about 20k per second. My usual download speeds are on average about 300-400k on my satellite download connection. This hasn't been a problem anywhere else on Renderosity except in the marketplace download area. Give me your input please so that I can see if I'm the only one with this problem.

Thanks,

James

I had a little spree on Saturday and the download times were more or less what I normally get on broadband.

I downloaded a few things on Sunday and one on Monday and speeds were fine.

Thanks for your input. Maybe it was just those particular days that I tried downloading the stuff I bought. I'll have to go and give it another try. Thanks again and enjoy the week, even though it isn't Friday yet.

I have found that downloads of purchases have been grindingly slow. I think that this is the sort of thing that you only notice when you are on dial-up (which I am). In my case, I have been having a download which keeps on timing out on me, and then crashing.

I often buy on RMP, and I haven´t had slow downloads yet. But I´m on fast DSL.
