Subject: How Does One Rearrange Parameter Dials stack?

macmullin ( ) posted Wed, 18 April 2001 at 7:06 PM ยท edited Thu, 01 August 2024 at 7:06 PM

I have been adding new morph targets to Eve 4 v.2 and the morph targets are coming in at the top of the Parameter Dials stack. I would like to rearrange the dials so they will have relevance to the area in which I am working - for an example tongue morphs beside tongue morphs and brow morphs beside brow morphs. At this moment the dials are located all over the stack from top to bottom. Question: is there a utility or a quick method to change the dial order other than editing the Cr2 file by hand? I thought of using morphman 4.0, but morphman all ways comes up with an error with Eves .obj file every time I try to load her up. Question: does any one have this problem as well and is there a way to cure it?

Eve4.x has realistic eye meshes embedded in the CR2, this may cause an error with MM4. You can use the Hierarchyy Editor within Poser4 to rearrange the order if there aren't too many there for Poser to handle. It's a Drag & Drop operation within the HE. There may be other utilities out there that will help with this, but I haven't tried them. -JH.

I tryed the Hierarchy ed and though this would work. I would move the dial in the location in the stack but no change took place - even after receiving an ok as a check mark when placing the dial between the other dials... is ther somthing I am doing wrong?

If there are too many morphs the HE won't respond as it should. Guess it's a memory thing.

I don't think NotePad can handle it, try EditPad Lite instead: http://www.editpadlite.com/editpadlite.html -JH.

ScottA, do you have a link for this cr2 library editor?

The next version of CR2Edit does this as fast as you can click on the dial names, no matter how many dials you have. DAZ3D is running a beta, to rearrange the 200+ dials in the current version of Vicki2. If you do it in a text editor, be SURE you know what you are doing, and expect a few hours of work, if you are moving dozens of dials. For Mac, try the new MaConstructor from MartinC. (I haven't gotten around to trying it yet myself...)
