Subject: In Search Of Dressform

Valerian70 ( ) posted Thu, 24 August 2006 at 6:18 AM · edited Fri, 22 November 2024 at 4:53 PM

I'm looking for a morphing Dressform or Tailor's Dummy that will morph according to the body morphs of V3, so that when I inject a character into it it takes on the body characteristics of the injected character, eg. GND 2.0.  I know I could build one using the existing V3 body and removing bits and pieces and welding other bits and pieces together but I'm too bone idle to do that and will make a mess of it.  I would also like an SP3 version if there is such a thing to be had.

Doesn't matter if they are free or pay items.  I have had a bit of a search in the RMP and the Free Stuff but as usual my searches yielded nothing - I am useless at keyword guessing it seems.

Thanks in advance for any help you can give me.

If you want to be able to inject any character into it, including custom morphed ones, then the dummy will have to have V3's mesh. Theoretically, a dummy could be made which replicated all the standard morphs, but it would never be able to take custom morphs. I don't understand why you can't just use V3 herself? I usually use V3RR for making clothing since she uses fewer resources; but you do need to be careful about her lack of nipples, since a dress made to fit her can suffer from embarrassing poke-through when worn by a full strength V3. ;)

It isn't for making clothing though, it is to fit clothing on for a render and I wanted to be able to change the dimensions of the dummy to get a better fit when I pop the clothes on - I don't want to just use dynamics on it you see.

I'm just being pernickety I suppose, that or I just want too much - not unusual......lol

Oh, I see... There are some dummies in the marketplace, but they don't morph. If you have the morphing catsuit, that might be a better starting point than V3 herself? Just a couple of ideas...

It would have helped if I'd explained why I was looking for this item wouldn't it - DOH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks for the help Bob, even though they aren't exactly what I wanted they are very reasonably priced so I shall definitely be getting those once I get home from work :o)  No excuses not to work on the half sewn texture I'm doing for a dress - all this for a little corner of a render I have planned - I must be mad!

Ness has made a victorian dress dummy at his site and it's free. He also has a longgggg thread running in the Daz Freepository forum at:

and the dress stuff is on page 35 or so of the 78.
