Subject: Songbird ReMix Update and new FREE bird

Ken _Gilliland ( ) posted Fri, 25 August 2006 at 10:11 AM · edited Mon, 23 December 2024 at 5:29 PM

All updates for my Songbird ReMix series are finally complete.  I decided that the requirement list was getting too confusing (needing SBRM + SBRM2 + sometimes the woodpecker set) so all older packages have been revised and upgraded so the SBRM2 features are now included and only require the original Songbird ReMix model.  All updates are currently being processed by DAZ and should show up in the next couple weeks on their store replacing the older versions.  Registered owners should receive an update notice, if not, the updated versions (many with new birds added are available on my website at: http://www.empken.com/songbirdremixcentral.html.  For those who don't have those packages-- the price on most iof the series s $17.95 but once the new versions are in place what the store, they'll cost you $2 more. FYI.

Okay, now for the free bird I promised... it's the Tufted Titmouse and what's required is an updated version of Songbird ReMix.  http://www.empken.com/downloads/files/TufTitmouse.zip (1mb, zipped). And again the update for the original Songbird ReMix is on my site and includes two bird found found in the original (the Mountain Chickadee and House Wren)

Thanks for the heads up. I always found the requirements a bit confusing. The DAZ installer insisted I didn't have any Song Birds on my system because they were on drive d: and not c:

False advertising! ;-)

I'm sure the common name of Baeolophus bicolor is passed on from it's European cousins... I had fun with advertising back then when releasing my European Birds.

Yes, some of the names do get bird people to blush.

I'm confused again...

OK...I bought the original songbird package...
Then I bought the 1st remix package..and a couple of bird add on packages.
Just recently I bought remix2 ...

So are you now saying you upgraded the original remix package to the remix 2 package? So I wouldn't have had to buy remix 2 ????

No... A couple months ago, the answer would have been different... after lots of confusion on what was required and what used version 1 and what used with 2, I talked with DAZ and we decided it would be better for the series if only that Original Songbird ReMix was required.  Since then I have added the new Songbird ReMix2 .cr2 and other enhancements  and all of the older products and those updates are available on my site.

So why should you get that package entitled "Songbird ReMix2" that was released a couple months ago if the cr2 and maps are now included in the old packages?  For the birds included-- like the quail, raven, pigeon, Kookaburra, hummingbirds, etc.. plus the freebie's I'll be adding on the website (as a thank-you for getting it).

I should also stress that the $1.99 Platium Club Songbird is different than Songbird ReMix

Hopefully that clear things up...
