Hi Everyone No my site is not closing down. We are just putting up a script to stop the mass downloader. So you can get everything for your selves. From what I found out most of the Mass donloader are coming from Germany and Asia. I hope they stop it. My mailbox was flooded with messages from people that seem to think that my site has gone away. I really can't blame them as it seems that everyone site's seem to be closing. I have been here for the last 5 years and I plan to stay as long as I can!! My site should be all fixed and back up by tonight or Tomorrow. Thanks for you patience. Now go and have some fun tonight. Take a break:-) Lannie

I wish some things could be uninvented - mass downloaders, bulk emailers, pop-up windows ... all things that just cause trouble. Best wishes, Lannie!

Sorry Lannie, I think I might be one of these german abusive massdownloaders since I come from germany, just got Poser and typically use GetRight for downloads - But I don't understand why this is a problem for some sites! If I download a huge model about 3 times because my Web Browser doesn't support "resume" wouldn't that be a much heavier burden on the site? Or do you mean people that are downloading your whole site over a couple of days? I thats the case what is acceptable download behaviour? I hope your are installing a script that limits somehow (?) the daily bandwidth of a user and doesn't protect against my beloved Getright. ciao

Hi Folks! Thanx for keepinmg the site up, lannie & friends. It's a wonderful resource. And thaxll: if you want to get a sense of how mass downloaders are adversely affecting these sites, think of it this way: a bridge that's designed to handle ten thousand cars per day suddenly gets that many per hour. In other words, multiply your seemingly harmless activity by the number of people throughout the world also using their "beloved Getright"--many at the same time--and suddenly the site becomes inaccessible to the rest of us. I'm just suggesting that if you can get the stuff you want from a free site without using a mass downloader, please do so to be considerate of us who don't use one. Otherwise, many of the sites will simply shut down or make it generally harder for any of us to visit them. Peter (Dr Zik)
