I am new to Poser. I have been enjoying useing it. :D

I am in need of designing **Architecture. Fairly Simple houses for my project.

I have been trying out home design software and seeing if I can import those files into poser.

I have been haveing no luck with this at all. It seems that when I use "3D Home Architect Home Design Deluxe 6" the textures are loaded into poser but are not displayed, only a single color like the texture is displayed. I've had to scale the 3ds files to 4000% for it to be of a realistic size.

If anyone has an idea of what I'm doing wrong please msg me.

Otherwise I will be in search of a new program to do the architecture.  If I have to use some thing else I would like to ask what people suggest?

Thank you for your time.**

I also have that 3D Home Architect software. The problem is that the models it exports are not UV mapped. What you need to do is convert the model to .obj format then open that in UVMapper and UV Map it to accept the textures. It's kind of a complex task, so if you've never done it before, you should start with a simple house until you get the hang of it.

If you don't have something like Deep Exploration to convert the 3ds to .obj then you can do that by loading the 3ds into Poser then export it as an .obj.

There is a free version of UV Mapper. Check the UVMapper forum, I think they have a link to it there, if not then someone there can post a link to where you go to get it.

Once you get them properly UV mapped, though, the result is pretty nice. 3D Home Architect is a fast, asy way to build nice house models.

with max you need to rescale your stuff from poser. so going from poser to max you would increase it's size 100%. here is a great free tool that i use for that:

http://www.sandylodge.demon.co.uk/files/scaler3c.zip

i still have problems having max import texture files from poser so if you get that straight, clue me in, huh? obviously, when you want to import your obj back into poser, you will need to scale down your file 100% from max to poser.
