Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2024 Dec 02 5:01 am)

Subject: What is your favorite pose pack? Because I'm looking for a good one.

jhustead ( ) posted Tue, 05 September 2006 at 5:29 PM · edited Mon, 02 December 2024 at 10:29 AM

I'm looking for a product that has lots of different poses. I already have one by As Shanim which is really cool because it lets you choose how the lower portion of the body is posed and the upper body as well. I also have some of the different ones that come from the free stuff page. I'm not really looking for any type of particular poses, but basically just a lot of them. Multiple character poses would be good to, but I usually just use V3.

Another type pose package that I'm looking for is one that could do different hand poses. Hand poses are the most difficult ones for me to do because it always ends up looking like the fingers are out of joint or broken. Thanks for your input and help.

There are a ton of pose packages out there both free and for sale.

Do a search here in the free area and in the market place for "pose"  and you will find several dozen pose packages.

Also Daz has a number of pose packages too.

You can also find more free ones by searching "Pose" at this link:

And you can be Schlabber or poses:

Poses can be used cross figure with just a bit of tweaking sometimes.  Currently I'm doing some renders of Aiko and I'm using poses for Teen and V3.

I was going to mention Ilona for hand poses particularly, but she also has some great general pose packs.

Firebirdz also has some beautiful pose packs.

Sprinter comes to mind for partial poses... he has some enormous packs for V3.

All in the Marketplace here 😄

schlabber. All of it is good, affordable and generous helpings.

(shameless plug follows)
I like to mix and match my poses using the prpc project.
I made a client module for it that allows you to filter a pose file onto selected body parts.

An added bonus is that I can have multiple folders of poses open at the same time allowing for easy mixing and matching.

Why not create your own poses?    Creating poses (and especially hand poses) can be frustrating, but that makes it all the more satisfying, when a pose finally works - and you do get the pose which you envisaged (character geometry permitting), rather than something limited by somebody else's imagination..

Sometimes though the pose set is a baseline that you can then adapt for your own needs. In that schlabber set there are a lot of partial poses. They certainly speed up ones work. There are also facial expressions poses and I saved them all into my V3 character as morph tartgets, so I can adjust the dial and alter the face to suit. because the facial expressions don't affect my underlying character I find them really really useful.
