So todays gripe. I decided to take a peek at the 'two' entries Agentsmith mentioned in another thread for the monthly challenge. Like I had always done in the past I clicked the link in the top part, right under the banner. And it took me to some other place with other contests listed and to add insult, I couldn't find a link to the Bryce Forum challenge there!!!!!!!! WTF is all I've got to say.

Ang please don't go!  Come back Ang.   I used to be so ticked off at the changes.  I was even trying to resign my moderator status because I could not respond to threads without my computer crashing.  It did not make any difference which browser that I was using.  Things really came to a head when I had tutorials to post for people as I would spend all darned day waiting for pages to become unstuck.  Things are slightly better for me now, but if it were not for the people here,  I would have packed it in a while ago.  Wherever you are now, I hope that you find contentment and peace of mind.

I understand frustration even more.  I just went to my forum options to turn on avitars (an option I usually have off  to save load times)   I can't turn them on............they won't save and go into effect.......go figure.   crap.

Try the obligitory;

Sign Out, clear all your cache, restart, log-in, click the Forum Option changes, click the first "Save Changes" button (very important). And, then see how you fair. Also, make sure your computer time isn't way off from Renderosity's. (the minutes, not the hour)

if that doesn't work, contact an Admin to see if they can see why its glitching.

There are several time servers available. I "THINK?" I got mine when I loaded Net framework and had to be sync'd with the server. Right click on the clock time on the right side of your start bar. If it's installed you should see a third tab called "Internet Time" on the properties window. You can enable this automatically or if you have a dialup connection just click "update now" when the connection is active. This will set your computer clock to within a second of the atomic clock.

If your computer time is faster than the server you are looking at, your computer may decide that old pages in your cache are newer than the things you are looking at and not update your pages.

As frustrating as it may be, I would think the entire purpose of coming to renderosity is to see some pretty kick ass art work. (well, hopefully anyways). But a couple of pages that have a few bad links isn't really anything to bitch about.. In my opinion anyways...

Tks AS,  I did all of ur suggestion.  I experimented and it was the wrong "save changes" button.  I think this is little of what Ang is frustrated about, and me to a lesser extent.  I ask why was a the page set up to have two "save changes" buttons, one in the middle of the page and one at the bottom, to start with and one will save a change to part of the page only (a page that has no real indication it is a two parter.)

Well being a member for around here for such a long time, I have seen a lot of garbage. But I have to admit lately it has been a real LOAD! I really think they made a mistake by changing the way things look and you can tell by the attitudes. Yeah I too have thought about moving on to some better communities like the ARTZone. But I really never left when there was the split to 3DCommune. Mostly I can't stand all the basic and I mean a child could do better, NAKED POSER BIMBOS and other disgusting images. How is this art? WHY DO THEY GET A 100 more view for a fake nipple!!! LOL I dont get it...

Well Ang, you know I’m with you 100% on this one. They went and f____d up the whole thing for many of us. Just goes to show that the old saying: “if it ain’t broke don’t fix it” is spot-on. Really, there’s nothing remotely good about this new setup accept for crashing your system. On that account it runs neck and neck with Windowz.

Like you, I drop in on occasion to see what’s new with Bryce 6.5…ahhhh, oh, forgot, Bryce is still stalemated at 5.5. And to see some of the old Bryce masters and friends that still abound. I’ll be catching you on the sidelines.

Okay, reality.  This site has been driving me nuts and I understand the frustration.  I try to include a pic, nada, but what this site is really about is the people.  I'd almost be happier if this site regressed to a BBS of some sort.  Exchange pics via email, post coments.

• Contact www.w3s.nl, tell them what u want.

• Dont get scared about the price-tag untill u calculate how much it would cost to get a good scripter to custom script ur stuff for $100 bucks an hour or to hire another big studio like lostboys(yeah sure, the 18 year old son of the neighbours brother in law's best friends ex girlfriend who just graduated his informatics class in highschool might do it for $10 an hour, but he'll do a shitty job. Get a friggen pro already).

- let w3s.nl fix it.

- get it done way faster then u make it urself right now AND on done on deadline (no really, it will actually really really really be done on deadline!)

- get it done flawless.

- get some of the best web-technology around embedded right into your website.

And finally: Try not to spontaniously make out with the programmers when you fall in love with the end-result.

(No really, I'm actually quite serious. And no I would not benefit from this in any way.)
