I don't know what the experience is like for other people in the USA who have faster internet, but the CP website is still running really slow for me 5 days after the offer...  Like walking through cold treacle up to your waist just to log in, I haven't even attempted the massive downloads yet.  I have 512kbps ADSL and other sites such as Renderosity pop up in no time at all...

Anyone managed to complete the download yet?  If so, how long did it take and what connection do you have?

Update! they've extended the download date to the 8th. The trick is downloading the @#$%..;) Surprisingly, they're being hammered 24-7 by people trying to download it..who woulda thunk?..;)

However- if you get it as far as 'my stuff' (look for a cube under search, that's the icon to get there), you can download it once the freakout is over.

Signed - Patiently (not) waiting..;)

I still say they should have put the download file on a few mirror sites to ease this congestion...  How hard would it have been to set that up - not very...

If the download is acepted, althoug you don't star to download, the link stand long time. Just wait.

Yeah, sounds great at first -just wait till you've had to wait for days just to be able to download it, then to find the download doesn't work, (corrupt files)! Then it doesn't seem so sweet 👎

See the thread in Comuunity Centre too, and over at Daz - alot of people having problems.

Depending on what mirror site/server they used it could cost them from $200-$500 a month to cover bandwidth and storage of the files, if that was the case then i could say that poser 5 wouldn't be free.

I have opinions of my own -- strong opinions -- but I don't always agree with them.

well, they're making progress..I tried this morning at work (T3 line), and the download would have only taken 12 hours (and that's at megabyte speed...;) it's runnign about 11k/sec..;)

But at least I don't get the 'limit exceeded' message anymore..;)

I'll just wait until October I think.  But what is this doing to all their other normal business at CP?  The site is very slow to navigate. If Renderosity was that slow I wouldn't bother using it...

I've had a reply to my "ticket" thing and in that email I was told that even if you use up your 10  downloads - you can get them reset, so no worries.  And it won't run out, even if you go back in a few weeks time it should still be waiting for you.
