Subject: Metallic hair/pubes

Hi :) Attempting to use metallic materials on a character to transform it into a metallic "golem", I was wondering if there would be a way to make the transmap/firgure hair and the transmap pubic hair looking metallic in the exact same way. If a body is to turn into metal, everything organic will... so I am a bit annoyed. Any materials magician out there to help me out? :D

You can use reflection maps or raytraced reflections on transmapped materials and dynamic hair.

Here's a quick attempt. I applied a gold material that comes with Poser 6 onto the figure and hair. I then reapplied the transmap for the hair. When I tried it with the pubic hair it didn't show up too well. You could always changed the shade of the gold so it stood out

Thank you for these answers :) I managed to test out your method, nghayward, and it works pretty well, but I am not sure I know how to proceed to try yours, little dragon o_o I might need a further explanation ^^, pretty please with sugar on :p

of course metal does not have to be shiney and new. It could be old and rusty.

(rust metal freebie materials from RDNA)

Looks good :D Hmmm. I wanted to create a metallic She-Freak 2. How does one fit v3 clothes with she freak 2? I mean apart from the wardrobe wizard or Morph Manager

Even reflection maps with the gold that nghayward used will make it look a lot more metallic but of course, in poser 6 you can use real reflections.

how to set them to work on a transmap?

simply apply the transmap as it normally would, and set the transparency.

If you look at one of the material sections of hair in the Material room, you'll see how that transmap is applied, just apply the same transmap to the transparency areas, at the same strength and it'll work.
